Started playing it this afternoon. Puzzles are fairly simple. But the visuals are superb. The sound and music is great. And it's such a cute character. The tutorial could have been better. I didn't know there were secrets hidden in the gale until I finished the first level. They could have hinted at that eg

Beautiful game, it's my best graphics of 2016 so far just like Ori was my best graphics for 2015. I love these kinda games' aesthetics.

This is Sony's multi-threaded Fire Engine put to great use, it was also used for games like Flower and Journey, a very underused engine if you ask me.

I'm not sure how the engine would perform in eg a shooter or RPG with 'realistic' graphics. But agreed, this game looks amazing. The lighting is so good. And it has great design.

You're right https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhyreEngine I had no idea it had such a long history of use.

@droezelke It's not only the lighting that did it for me, it's the clever fluid effects and pristine textures.

Looks fantastic, I'm really looking forward to giving this game a go whenever I get the chance. I'm a sucker for the too charming for it's own good type of platformers. This looks to fit right in.

Have you played Ori and the Blind Forest? That is another gem that must be experienced by all platform gaming fans.

i'm waiting for it to be free, which is generally my approach to these indie games recently. too many times i buy a digital game only for it to be a PS+ or GWG offering a week later.

I completely understand, but that's why I get my games mostly during Steam sales. But Ori is definitely worth the purchase on sale, keep an eye out. :)

Look for instance, it 50% off on Steam atm. :P http://store.steampowered.com/app/261570/

Yes I have and it is a fantastic game with a great level of challenge and old school feel to the controls. Plus it's visually stunning!

About the game

What's up?
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @Melmoth: Exactly and that's my point :) I convinced myself to play it even though its first person - for a game to do that for me, it's BIG! (9 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @alimokrane: i used to read Edge reviews in the 90's and early 2000's because their opinions very often lined up with my own. Also, reading reviews is better than "reading" scores. (12 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @alimokrane: for me it's worked well to find a site, or even better, a reviewer you often seem to agree with or have the same taste in games, and you hare some reference point. (14 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Having played other recent horror games, they probably just decided/realized it was a superior camera for the genre. (14 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker happy as hell because boy.....was 6 a mess. Even the good parts really weren't that good at all. Still though I am slightly sad about no third person. (16 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker I'm sure if Resi 7 had been exactly like 6 nobody would be happy. It seems Capcom now looked at modern horror games and also brought back some Resi stuff. If I was a fan of this franchise I would be (17 minutes ago)

asdfg @Sdarts: Agree, nice atmosphere and graphics looks solid. So nice to see a RE that doesn't look like a shitty action B movie. (24 minutes ago)
