Our videos of Ni Ko Kuni

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will finally hit the European shelves in a few days and since we received our copy of the game, we figured you might want to watch a bunch of videos. We chose to play the game with Japanese voices but you can also select the English ones if it's more your thing. Here are two videos to begin with, more will come as soon as possible. Enjoy!
Update 2: The last 2 videos we promised yesterday are now up.

Haven't played anything on any console in a long time (unless you count Temple Run). Will give this a try as it /looks/ pretty sweet.

graphics are downright dissapointing, going how good they looked without HD videos.

Characters Cellshade is good, but the scenery or is eitheir blured or the textures are hit or (mostly) miss. Eternal Sonata has half a decade and doesn't look that worse, even say better in some stuff.

Very easily one of the best-looking console games I've seen. Absolutely gorgeous.

Fortunately, the gameplay is every bit as good as the graphics.

You'd go with a Crysis HD-Texture Mod and probably still complain about textures being blurry. :-P
Plus: Eternal Sonata has an absolutely childish & pukeworthy artstyle (+ no free roaming, fixed angles and such) while this is admittedly childlike (+ the free roaming) but is still enjoyable for grown ups, just like the Ghibli movies. Eternal Sonata may look better in cutscenes than this ingame, but that's about it...

wow..after all this time. Just when the PS3 is about to usher in the PS4 (or whatever they're gonna call their next console) we finally get a decent JRPG.

you are just butthurt as usua godofwarfan, as it costs admitting the truth. it's called a opinion of a demo, and it's not entirely subjective, as there is lots of jRPGs in the market and a few with more solid visuals.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @GriftGFX: some smaller games can probably be successful with less players, but if you're aiming for AAA budget, i think it's a harder market than single-player type games. (41 minutes ago)
  • Megido
Megido @GriftGFX: Very true, so long as your staff gets a paycheck and you can keep on working on your projects, it should be seen as successfull imo. (42 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Tinks: for Overwatch? but that's sorta beta-trial, not that it mattered, but for people who's not that into gaming news and just heard about the game on launch (42 minutes ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks also players do go to new games all the time. It's why the business makes so much money and why some games die out quickly (43 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX There are different degrees of success too. You don't necessarily need 50 million players or whatever. (43 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth f2p can help lure people to a game, but if you don't get critical mass (which can be a high number) it's not gonna be profitable. (44 minutes ago)
  • Megido
Megido @Melmoth: Well, WoW is quite unique like that though. Has any one game dominated it's space for that long before or after? I doubt it. (44 minutes ago)
