It looks like some people over at Bizarre Creations have a lot of free time now that the game is finally done. And what better than creating a comparison video between the tv ad and the game to lose a few hours?
The point was, nvidia (and ms) seems to be pushing to put this tech on the marked and and adopted within a year or two, and not just putting out a paper about possible gpu/api directions in the future (17 minutes ago)

as for generational jump in performance. i think for nvidia it's been about 1.5-1.7x increase the last 4-5 gens. with the pascal cards (10 series) being around 1.7x performance of maxwell (900series) (2 Hours ago)
