Prince of Persia artwork

Ubisoft are still rather mysterious about the new Prince of Persia game, but here is at least an artwork presented in a speed painting video.

Awesome artwork. Really liked the music in the video too, I wonder if that's gonna be part of the game.

Don't know about you guys, but i think ubi ruined the whole PoP expirience with this kind of cel-shaded graphics the game is going to use...:(

Saw it a few days ago, very great that they are going with cel-shaded visuals this time around and much more fantasy drawing than before.

Can't wait to see the new prince in action with his glove.
The new female looks great!

You couldnt be more wrong Man! you couldnt be more wrong! thye said that they are going the whole way this time with a Fantasy theme to differentiate it from Assassins Creed and I think cell shading is a Perfect fit!

Just wait for the first gameplay and you will see. I have Faith, I have FAITH!

Whatever...We'll just have to wait...
But i've lost my faith after that terrible game named "Assassin's Creed"..

Assassin's Creed was reviewed pretty high...

Anyways where is this cel shaded content you people are talking about? Link?

Assassin's Creed was AWESOME!
The side missions was too much, and the bad thing was you couldnt skip cutscenes nor talks which sucked more.

But gameplay experience and all that, amazing!

And Alimo, I agree with you, I am glad they went with this art, unlike other devs they went with something new and unique for this franchise.

For those who havent seen the female character, here she is, looks amazing!

We don't want to get banned if you know what I mean.
If not, they were in a magazine, so google it and you will find it quickly.

Agreed, the artstyle is absolutely HORRIBLE! Why Ubisoft...WHY?! Way to kill this franchise for me. I like cell shading, just not this awful sketch-like variant...yuck!

Not digging the fact that it's going to be free-roaming either. Hopefully it won't be as boring and tedious as AC. What a letdown...

looks like a ninja

edit: I saw those Cell shaded pix you guys were talking about, Oh my fucking god that looks great!

Any word on whether their time mechanic from the previous games will remain in this one?
Commented on 2008-05-09 19:17:18
i think i read no time mech this time round but i could be wrong

There won't be any sands of time power.
They said it has some sort of a Zelda of Shadow of the Colossus type were you aim "something" to the sky and something else happens :P

Alot of new somethings in this game hehe.

I just happen not to memorize them, shame on me.

I will go and read the preview again.

its like Metal Gear Solid's artstyle. looks awesome. Like Ryu Hyabusa mixed with a Final Fantasy character.

wow. never heard anyone complain about a game NOT being linear before. The other PoP games were like platformers, i didnt like running thru level after level. Having more freedom to go anywhere will make this game awesome...along with the cell shaded gfx and sweet character design.

there are a few things im not keen on about the new game. mainly the graphical style. cel shading works for some games, but id say it was the last style i'd expect from prince of persia. i realise its more crackdown then jet set radio, but the style doesnt fit imo.

then there is the new prince. he looks far too much like the warrior within prince to me. all about the ragged clothes and the "extreme" nu-metal attitude. doesnt fit for my tastes.

but on the plus side they've reduced the figthing sections even more with only a few enemies...only now with far more depth per fight.....the only thing i hated about the past PoP's was the combat...as a platformer the game was immense.

i dunno, we'll see i guess. i'm not holding my breath tho. for me the PoP series has yet to top the sands of time.

It will also limit environmental variation and depth/quality. It will also limit the platforming quality and make for a much more "free", yet limited experience.
