Xbox 360 PS3

One of the few positive points of the quite horrible Activision/Vivendi games merger is that Monolith managed to get back the F.E.A.R. brand and the "unofficial" sequel Project Origin now became official as F.E.A.R.2: Project Origin. And the trailer they just released certainly confirms that it should be a worthy sequel!

I never regularly played FEAR MP, but I was really happy when they made FEAR combat free. It probably made the game's multi more popular as a result too. I wonder if they plan on doing the same in the future for FEAR2.

it would really help to promote the game and have a very robust online community, on PC anyways. i really don't see them doing it on the consoles for free, but you never know.

Time to turn off the lights, get the Senneiser headphones out, lock the door and grab ALOT of toilet tissues because this game is going to be brilliant for sure! (and make you kak your kegz!!). Monolith do this kind of game to the brink of perfection and I`m looking forward to getting another helping of F.E.A.R.

It's curious that they've decided to follow up the story from the viewpoint of a different character, considering what we've learned about FEAR's lead. It's also a little funny, since bullet-time was a plot device, and there's no reason (that we know of) for this character to have those same psychic reflexes.

That is probably what that whole surgery thing is about.

I thought the game had great MP on PC and consoles, but it was always extremely unpopular. They made FEAR MP on PC free because noone was playing it. I don't even think it helped much from what I remember.

I hope they've learned to optimized the game more on consoles, there's no excuse anymore if this doesn't run at 60fps.

There were definitely people playing FEAR Combat. It wasn't as popular as some of the big names in the genre, but I'm willing to bet you can still find populated servers right now.

More cheap jump tactics? Or are they actually gonna insert something genuinely scary this time around.

Yeah there sure is. There is many servers to choose every time you check. I need to find my cd-key to play a bit too.

I agree with DDRMidian that jump kicking was a bit cheap in MP ;)

I always thought that FEAR's emphasis was more on action than it was horror. And it's not quite as cheap in the thrills department as Doom's generally cheeseball scare tactics (which I still enjoyed).

Awesome! I'm totally psyched for the team, I'm glad they get to be official, they deserve it. The game is looking spectacular.

Yeah. Other then the ambient scary sounds in Doom, it was more of a condemned style thing, but with out effed up faces and seriously grotesque stuff, you jump a lot, but not a lot of spine tingling.

I didn't like F.E.A.R at all and don't find it scary (or thrilling, or whatever you want to call it) one bit. It's the typical cheap scares and cliché moments that just don't cut it. After trying F.E.A.R at the time I kind of discarded these developers as rather mediocre.

But man, I was so wrong! I just finished Condemned 2 tonight and damn, it's even better than the first one imo. It really delivers a gaming experience like nothing else out there. They have shown me that they are among the best developers around. It has convinced me that F.E.A.R 2 is atleast worth looking in to.

Seriously, if these guys put their heart to it...they can make truly amazing games. Very impressed by these guys.

They've ruled for a long, long time too. Blood was one of the best build engine games, Shogo and NOLF own, etc. I haven't had a chance to play Condemned 2 yet, but honestly, Blood 2 was the only time they let me down. They should make a new Blood to make up for it.
