Xbox 360

Found on a japanese upload site, here is a video that pleases my lazy self since it shows almost exactly what I had planned to show in the second part of my Project Sylpheed video. Many thanks to the unknown author of this off-screen video. More seriously, I'm almost at the 4th mission of the game and despite some framerate flaws this is now one of my favorite Xbox 360 titles so far. Let's hope a localized version will be released outside Japan soon!

Blim, is your Japanese great or what?
I just played this game for about an hour (we got it today in Kunming in our local game shop), it was WELL worth the 430RMB I spent for it!
However, I'm confused as the only bits I can read are the Chinese characters (kanji) can you enlighten me as to wtf is going on?

So far it's a great game, at first the controls were funky, now they're just awesome - - only wish I had a better TV to play this on!

I don't speak one work of japanese. But it's been so long since I've started playing 100% japanese games that I more or less know what I have to do. I can at least recognize the load/save/start kanjis ;)

Let me get this straight. Square has published a "good" game for the 360, finally?

It's not the perfect game, but I'm really enjoying it.

I completely agree, its not perfect but its a lot of fun. Especially as you progress further along in the game.(Im on level 5 and will likely hit 6 or 7 tonight.) One should keep in mind though that square didnt have that much to do with the game. The credit belongs to gamearts, a company with a long history of great games.

Good to hear you're enjoying it Blim!

As for the 'framerate flaws', do these include screen tearing, or are they just intermittent slowdowns?

This game has vsync enabled so no tearing, but good old slowdowns.

By the way Blim and Mori, most of the characters in game arent even kanji, but rather kana. Atleast in the menu system and the rest is spoken or in english. I cant really read kanji myself, but since everything is spoken it makes the plot pretty easy to understand. Kana menu's are standard though it seems in most of the japanese games. In this case, the harder part is the wierd font they chose for the writing.

As for the slowdown, Im on level 5 and havnt seen any of it yet. Where were you seeing the slowdown?

Sorry guys but this game doesnt work for me as next-gen.,,,
the laser FX and all that looks very impressive but the scenery is kinda empty..
in the first mision there was only one ship in the middle and just lasers and fx hapening around it .. and all you could see is this froze background everywere.
and then the other mission with more spaceships around(but still not enough) the was a lot of slowdown ..
It looks very very fun i must say but still its not a great grafical achievment and it gives me anxiety that Square is playing with 360 instead of making something without glitches ..
I just dont understand
