Promotional video of Wangan Midnight

Promotional video of Wangan Midnight

Genki is a studio well known for its Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, so it's a good new that they are in charge of the game version of the quite famous manga/animated series Wangan Midnight that depicts the same type of races. If you never heard about it, think Initial D (it even looks similar even if it's not the same mangaka) on Tokyo's highways.

Holy shit... haven't seen the video, yet, but the screens look really, really... REALLY awful!

I hope you weren't expecting Forza or GT level graphics from a small developer.

And thanks for the 1080p video. I hope we see more of them in the future.

Hehehe, no, shurely not, but when I first saw these ones, I was a bit shocked, however ^^

This is by Genkai, they don't have the budget or resources to bring the visual goodness. Never heard of the show before, but it does resemble Initial D a lot. So that's cool. Anyway, I'm a fan of Genkai's TXR and Kaido Battle series, so I will keep an eye on this. They may not win any graphics/simulation awards, but I enjoy playing their racing games.

Probably in the minority though :P

It's Genki, not Genkai.

Hmm, when the game promises FUN, then it's worse to take a look.
Does anyone remember Hardcore 4x4? Noone liked it, but I adored it.
Simply 'caus of the fun I had with the game.

they ripped off Initial D's art style in order to get more custumers ...

Hah! Not likely after my disasterous Lumines 2 confession turned boulet! :O

I'll be strictly high brow humour from now on.

Initial D manga started in 1995, Wangan Midnight in 1992...

Can anyone get this video to playback on the Xbox 360?
Commented on 2007-06-24 01:52:07
It might play but not smooth, ur 360 will need some update to play mp4 files.

It's wierd that playing the 600MB Haze Mp4 file on my ps3 was silky smooth but on my P4 3.2Ghz computer and Xbox360, it played like choppy salami

No one is forcing you to buy it.

The replays of the game look okay, and the game seems to make some fun. There are places where the levels and the cars look acceptable, but that one track by daylight... the textures of the road look really ugly. Would make me nerveous during a race...

GriftGFX Nvidia and AMD don't even provide the API for their graphics cards. That would be the next layer between the developer and the video card. DirectX. (2 Hours ago)
