Cool.
I've been jones'ing for some more Prototype.

I hope it has more story missions this time around.

Wow, that actually looked better. Didn't know they upgraded the engine.

But yeah, that Penny Arcade comic was the one thing to convince me to buy the game at full price. Loved the hell out of the movement and powers, but yeah could've used more enemy variety, and cheap Hunters rushing. And a more engaging open world.

show of hands...

who is actually going to BUY this with so many other awesome games out this year?

The game releases next year, but I'm raising my hand anyway.
It's one of the few games I'm looking forward to, alongside RF: Armageddon, Deus Ex, Duke Nukem, and something else I'm sure.

The ball was dropped with the PC version of Bulletstorm, so I have a few extra pennies to spare.

This actually looked much better than the first one! I really liked the crazy powers and mayhem you could do, and with the release date set for a not so crowded time, I'm quite sure I'll buy it.

Let's just hope for more story and mission variety, then It will be prefect.

They need to fix the balance issues and difficulties spikes in this one.

Also good sidequest that involve doing what the main character can do not some stupid stuff like drive a tank....the hell was that?

Other than that it could be great!!

A couple of those were really tough and annoying - the one's where you're taking on other tanks.
Couldn't gold all of them, but I decided I didn't care because they were pretty lame, and there are better ways to gain experience :)

Some of the three-way war side quests were so chaotic, but a hell lot of fun! The kill quota World of Warcraft type grinding side quests were shit, though.

But the best is obviously the bullseye and parkour chase sidequests. Goddamn, did I rage so much but felt so good to get Platinum medals on them!

I liked the consume events where you had to infiltrate the military base and consume the commander to unlock abilities. They were fun and gave you more to do compared to the other events.

Next to those, probably the "Kill" events (or whatever they were called), where you use your active powers to take down either the infected or the military.

The other consume events, where you traverse the city looking for each consecutive military guy, or the group of scientists, were too easy.

I also like how you could upgrade yourself with new skills, and it was always exciting to unlock a new ability. Web of Intrigue was also interesting.

For most of the game it almost seemed like the abilities might be endless, but there eventually was an end to all that insanity - a nice *phew* moment.

They must have done some intense focus groups to find that spot because any more than that and my brain probably would have exploded.

They need to make it more polished, better sidequests, better pace in gameplay IMO.
And the difficulty of those damn helicopters, my god those were nasty LOL.

I loved Prototype because Alex Mercer was a complete badass.
The way he ran super fast and everytime he ran his feet would make the ground or walls leave a crack, or the super jumps or long hovering, really awesome.
I also liked how you could lock on to enemies, I used it alot on the choppers and I started running fast and doing acrobatic flips and such while dodging missiles and stuff.

I hope they add better and cooler powers this time around.
Hopefully they will make it much more fun and last longer, creating chaos within seconds was boring IMO when the powers werent that fun to use.

Also...why the hell arent we playing as Alex Mercer damn it, this is bullshit, I want to play as Alex Mercer.

Bah, helicopters were easy too.
You just needed to throw stuff at them and they would go down.
After the whip grab thing it was easy to pull a Skyjack and take the other helicopters down with nary a fight - lockon > hold machine gun fire.
Actually, you don't even need the whip grab thing. Just do a flying kick toward them.

The hard part was doing all that and getting back to the base during a consume event.

But yeah, from this video it does look like at least one new power has emerged.
Hopefully it replaces that somewhat useless Musclemass power (never used that more than twice).

I wonder if playing as the new guy will pit our new powers against the old powers of Mercer!
That could be interesting.

I dont know why the hell they are forcing us to play as the new guy, I want Mercer damn it LOL

But I am definitely keeping my eye on it, another "superhero/power character" game along with inFamous 2!

Who else could be as epic a boss fight as Alex Mercer? It's like in NINJA GAIDEN BLACK when you had Evil Ryu as the boss, hard as nails because you both have the same abilities, so where would the weaknesses be?

That's a lot more interesting than some huge boss with a large life bar where you're always kiting for a battle of attrition rather than skill. That's what Elizabeth felt to me.

Totally agree. While that Elizabeth Greene mission was long and a change up from other missions, there wasn't much skill involved.
Devastator move - run away - kill Hunters for more juice - another Devastator move - run away - etc...

The final boss was much better.
