ACTIVISION PUBLISHING, INC. RELEASES PROTOTYPE® AND PROTOTYPE® 2 ON PLAYSTATION®4 AND XBOX ONE

The PROTOTYPE® BIOHAZARD BUNDLE brings the complete PROTOTYPE® experience to new consoles for one great price

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – July 14, 2015 – Today Activision Publishing, Inc. launched the PROTOTYPE® BIOHAZARD BUNDLE, a collection containing the breakout third-person action-adventure games PROTOTYPE and PROTOTYPE 2. It is now available for $49.99 as a digital download on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system via the PlayStation®Store and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, through the Xbox Games Store. This title is rated M (Mature) by the ESRB.

The PROTOTYPE saga follows the intertwined stories of Alex Mercer and Sergeant James Heller, each given shapeshifting powers and superhuman strength by a deadly virus that has devastated New York City. PROTOTYPE and its sequel specialize in giving players unstoppable abilities of destruction and deception, then setting them loose in a dynamic open-world playground to unleash carnage on the shadowy forces behind the outbreak.

Each game in the PROTOTYPE BIOHAZARD BUNDLE includes exciting content and features for fans and newcomers to the series alike. Both titles have been updated for a new generation of hardware with Full HD rendering, improved framerate, and higher-resolution textures and effects. Moreover, PROTOTYPE 2 contains all of the DLC that came with the original RADNET Edition of the game, as well as the majority of in-game content previously offered through retailer pre-orders.

Both PROTOTYPE and PROTOTYPE 2 will be available to purchase individually on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One through the PlayStation®Store and Xbox Games Store, respectively, on August 11 in North America. The original PROTOTYPE will be $29.99; its sequel will be $39.99.

Still beats Infamous series, in this you are not a battery were you need source to use your powers :P

Too bad they changed the character from Mercer to Heller, i prefered the more speedy and mobile character to the heavy tank like.

i hated these games lol. marcer was one of the douchiest characters in gaming. the terrible spiderman-esque combat didn't help much. i thought they'd spruce it up a little bit at least :/

Either you're trolling, or you never owned a PS3 last gen and you'e just being a devoted fan (read fanboy). The original infamous is a critically acclaimed game, and was freakin' awesome. Both Prototype and inFamous came out more or less at the same time; one game was great, the one no so much. Prototype 2 was even worse.

Devoteted fan = fanboy
Just because i dont prefer a "critically acclaimed game"?

How do you think i played Prototype games and all Ps3 infamous games, i owned a Ps3.

I gave Infamous a try, stopped half way since i got bored and didnt like to constantly sucking the electricity dry to keep using my powers even the most basic ones.
I tried Infamous 2 same shit, even bought that expansion halloween one, none of the infamous games was appealing to me except Cole's powers which was electricity, but how the gameplay was like was boring.

Prototype no, you actually felt like a complete badass, like Hulk in human form, much more mobile and faster and more chaotic, but still hard as hell once those helicopters starts chasing you down.

So yeah, i am serious, Prototype was way more my type interms of open world "power action game" than Infamous ever will be.
Prototype 2 was better interms of controls and how you could destroy th helicopters, but i didnt like how heavy and tanky the characters felt and moved compared to P1.

they were pretty awful even when it released. a heavily stylized technically unimpressive game might have gotten away with just a straight port. but this just looks old.

Looks like they're trying to cash-in, before the backwards compatibility comes down. Thing is, I didn't see Prototype 1 & 2 at the top of that list, so why not do the extra "umph" and go over the textures (and maybe models). I know it's not free to up-res (I know first hand) and I know it's not free to "port", but it costs you fans to just spit out a shoddy port.

Oh well... I actually liked the first Prototype and I liked it better than the first Infamous. I liked the overwhelming sense of freedom and power I had versus Infamous' pacing and overwhelming sense of detail for detail's sake (not saying Prototype looked better, because it didn't).

Depending upon the price, but honestly, when it comes to under-appreciated-ports to my "new boxstation", my money is earmarked for Darksiders.

I was playing this game in 1080p in 2009 on my PC.....even then I thought the game was crap; imo. I agree straight up cash-in with this re-release.
I also think that the infamous games were far more complete games in terms of story, gameplay and visuals when compared to prototype, again imo.

If they are making it available for today's consoles at the very least give it some next-gen polish.

Infamous 2 and SS are better imo, but both Infamous and Prototype are mediocre.

Your opinions are not fact. As a matter of "fact", Infamous outsold the Protoypes, regardless of them being on multiple platforms vs Infamous'es one platform. So the popular opinion is that Infamous is the better game. So stop proclaiming your opinion as a fact.

was thinking same thing, wonder if infamous would of been a awesome game if it was on another platform.

So they are as awful looking as they were 6 and 3 years ago then? Good to know.
And even though the sequel had an extra year on Infamous 2, the graphics, animations, characters, story, gameplay didn't come even a tiny bit close to Cole's second outing.
Prototype, the game for the kiddies like the ones who don't play a GTA game for the main campaign/story.

Prototype and infamous are BOTH pretty shit games imo. I never understood how either game ever had much of a following. Shit combat mixed with shit story followed by shit mission structures. Maybe I'm just too spoiled by games like Grand Theft Auto but these type of games were a chore to complete. Started out kind of fun but became quite lame before they were over.

I kind of agree.
For me the only reason why i enjoyed Prototype games (one mostly) was the mobility animations how the character moved and jumped and flipped from cars and when running super fast and jumping insanely high you sensed a weight behind it all...and the chaotic mess you can create and have ground and hair military take you down.

I dont think i need to re-express my opinion on Infamous games again.
I did enjoy doing Cole's ultimate power ability though like the tornado move or the lightning from the skies was cool.
