Hmm pity none of them held it up to the camera so we could see some new angles of it. Looking pretty sleek though and I can't believe it will be the same price as a Dualshock3.

Nice video

would have liked some actual game examples of some of the stuff it can do. otherwise it's kinda pointless given the fact we knew about it already.

DS3 is a terrible controller, but this seems like the perfect mix of DS3 and the Xbox Controller.

I love the DS3 way more than the bulky with too seperated buttons that is curved upwards that is the 360.
However the analogs are too loose and the top of it isnt bent in like the 360 or replaced the location of the left analog (as it should be since its a more natural and comfortable position since you use it more than right analog).

But all in all, its somewhat different from DS3 so I cant say yay or nay until i get my hands on it and see how it feels like such as shape, grip, texture comfortability and weight.

Triggers looks rather good this time around.

I can already tell I'm not going to like the triggers. They just put the pivot in the wrong spot.

Yes all the buttons are no longer analogue anymore including the d pad so you are right, it is more like a 360 controller now...... and a PS1 Dualshock too.

Exactly! I never bothered to pick up a PS3 because the controller was so bad, but the DS4 definitely caught my interest.

Beautiful and advanced controller. P1 will always be blue color I think and 3 other color if 4 gus are playing together.

Boring controller from Sony. But I expected that anyway. "It's got a speaker and a light bar!" Wow! Welcome to 2006, Sony. Well done! They've basically done what they've always done and ripped off the features and elements from other system controllers. The most pleasing thing about this is the inclusion of the sound and headphone port that is on the 360. At least now we can have a headphone and voice online straight out of the box. Everything else: seen it, done it, wore the T-shirt. Get original ideas, Sony.

The audio port is the worst thing about it imo. Massive step backwards. They've gone from wireless to wired...seems retarded. But i guess it lets them tick the "includes a microphone" box, shame it'll no doubt be as crummy as the 360 mono-mic. I'll stick to what i've got i think.

Yeah, I suppose that's true about the wire. However, the fact that every controller will have it as standard means that the system will improve online because everyone will be talking. It's a step in the right direction as far as that is concerned. They will always want to make extra cash from the wireless blutooth option.

The same amount of people will be talking/not talking. Bundling a mic isnt going to magically make people want to communicate online. I have a load of different headsets and i never used any of them while playing solo online. Only with my friends. That was true for 360 and PS3. Ive found both communities to be equally vocal/non-vocal too.

All an included headset does is require space to store a peice of cheap plastic imo. Waste lf time, plastic, and money.

Here is the complete details about DS4.

I really can't think what else they could have done. I also like that the blinking of light will actually stop once the charge is complete.

This statement is absolute bullshit, there are far more actually talking on the 360, especially during the early years of the consoles, of course bundling a free headset will effect the number of people trying to communicate using their voice.

Not found that to be the case at all. Much the same as pc! If people want to talk, they buy the means to do so. Sticking in a cheap ass mic doesn't change that. I mean, the PS3 supports usb and blu-tooth headsets...things a lot of people own, and yet communication is unchanged. A handful of people chatting in lobbies and a handful of people not.

I rarely ever hear anyone on mic on 360. I guess it depends on when & where you are playing.

I am a little surprised by this video actually, all is known already.I also agree with korn unless playing with my bro halo 4 is silent city most of the time.

I think it's fairly accurate now. Everyone just uses party chat.

Still looks a little small but saying that it does seem a big improvement on the current pad.

Far more people talk on Live than PSN.

still think that touch pad is the most pointless thing on it..whats the point of having it forced into a game where you can flick things (as demonstrated) when I've the anolog sticks a cm away from it that should not only be able to do the same job to the same effect had the touch pad not been there but also my man hands are likely to hit the sticks whilst I attempt to swipe. I hope novelty things like that don't effect the price of the controllers.

The sticks.. I still find them too close together and unnatural feeling when compared to the position of the 360 pad. Hopefully they'll be abit less loose now though.

Light. Pretty pointless. Maybe it'll double as a Move substitute. But other than that shouldn't the Kinect style cam read the position of where the players sitting? Is the camera being included with the console? they're very quite about it.

Mic port.. dont know why its there but if it means mics are better quality over psn then i'm for it. The 360 cheap as chips build mic has always sounded far superior than anything I've got out of Bluetooth mics on ps3 - which I always put down to poor network codes on ps3 games.

Speaker... well the wii did some pretty cool stuff with the speaker on the wii-mote so I guess it cant hurt.

The left stick in an unnatural position, Why do you think the very fist playstation pad had the d-pad where it was?
Commented on 2013-04-26 00:22:55
If they made this into big, fat 360 controller with wrong position of analog sticks. I think that would piss lot of PS3 users. In the video one of them also mentions it. They just made a better and beautiful looking DS3 with more features. That is a good decision.

XMB is no longer on PS4 which will be odd and take some time, to get used to it. XMB was just fine. They just needed fany icons :(

Because it was symmetrical to where the face buttons where, so your thumbs fell naturally and symmetrically on the pad, just as it is now. Only now you have 2 symmetrically placed analogue sticks too. Control pads should be symetrical imo, because it's natural...unless as i mentioned you have some left hand deformity? Lol
