Yeah, it's getting annoying. People don't like being reminded every hour that something highly anticipating is still days a way. It may not seem long, but this doesn't help, neither did that commercial that I've been seeing on television.

This has to be the best engine available on the current crop of consoles, surely? If not, then at the very least the best open-world engine.

A buddy's friend of mine here in the Netherlands actually completed RDR. He works for an online review center. I haven't seen him playing the game but he said that so far this part of RDR, wildlife & hunting, is highly addicting and absolute great fun! The chance that you might run into a bear and get killed makes the hunting part so unpredictable. And finally when you do meet one it's a fight to death or survival. But as a side quest on its self wildlife & hunting is HIGHLY rewarding!

I do know the score that he is going to give the game and it's a 10-! They also gave Fallout 3 a 10-.

I am currently playing ALan Wake but my mind is wandering else where...

I have a feeling we can’t even comprehend the amount of detail they put in this game.
Just looking at those last few images with the animal specifications makes me wonder what they have done the last few years... Mind blowing...
How long has this game been in production? Anybody knows?

It sure is impressive but I haev to play it myself first to make a comparisson to the Ubisoft engine,AC2 was very beautifull and impressive too!!

We all win no matter what those games will be the kings in sandbox genre!!

this is nothing but GTA4 in a western skin
yea, motion capturing horses, engineering new features into the game engine and modeling the entire thing from scratch is basically a skin job.

i dunno.. Alan Wakes still an open world engine.

the animations top-notch in this though. Technically i'd say GTA4 is still the more impressive..simply because the amount of detail, active NPC's, in an open world is still unmatched. Cant wait for LA Noire where they can take the polish made to the engine and place it in a GTA like world

I wonder how they menaged to motion capture a horse which get stuck on every possible fence lmao

Btw after playing JustCause 2 this game aint impressive in the terms of gfx engine.

JC2 looked pretty good, but as far as physics, animation, and detail, this game smokes it IMO. Story too.

It may be an open world engine, but Alan Wake isn't an open world game. We have nothing to judge the engine on in terms of a more open structure.

Not to mention that the animations of Red Dead: Redemption crap all over Alan Wake.

JC2 looks amazingly good, but the RAGE engine used in RDR is far more impressive technology considering the amount of things it does.
