Wow.

If they can get even close to these screens, I'll be amazed. Regardless, I'll be getting this!

we all know what the first Dirt game problems was, if they can get that done(online racing), im sold again(bought the first one).

Arcadey as hell. Still buying it though. I just with they'd even consider tacking on a sim mode to it, even gaffer taping it on would suffice.

Maybe in the next generation. Maybe...

Like many other games, the original Dirt was rendered (aha!) unplayable for me by all the bloom. Tone it down, Codemasters.

Picture 3, 4 and 5.. Omg. I cant tell you how much that appeals to me, for some wierd reason.
Rally, around damp nightly industrial complexes? GIEF! The artwork there reminds me of the old old NFS game (ya know the ones that were good).

How can the first Dirt been unplayable for you due to the bloom? lol. Fix your tv's contrast/brightness settings perhaps? Or maby your tv is just wierd, my friend had this HDTV that had sort of a built-in bloom, looked like shit, the colors and stuff actually bled over the split-screen edges lol.

The Mcrae games lost their charm for me after the brilliant second game on the PSX. I don't know, I just thought they'd "evolve" in some way, but they haven't.

tbh DiRT did evolve the series purely to appeal tom the yank market (more options in terms of vehicles and race types). but as a result it lost a lot of the "hardcore" feel of the older games. still fun, but as you said, CM2 was definately one of my faves. ps2 versions where pretty damn good too tbh.

Wow. A lot of love for the first Dirt game in here. No one else thought it played like crap? Cars were way too twitchy on turns and it had that horrible center axis camera while turning too. They said they're overhauling the physics for the sequel so I've got some hope that it won't disappoint. Just put in a bit of a camera swing this time!

So you paid $60 for the game when it was released, played it for 30min and then decided you didn't like it enough to play it again? You do know that there was a free demo you could've downloaded first to figure that out, right??? Or maybe you could've sold it or traded it in to recoup some of that money? Or maybe you're just extremely wealthy and money is no object to you :P

If they can pull that off (which I'm sure they can't), that would be a Crysis killer with a saw-off shotgun.

I imagine that it'll look like Grid but with another 6 months worth of engine work, so it'll look pretty darn good. Maybe not these target renders good, but good enough :)

They should quite wasting so much time and effort on these useless artworks, and make the stinkin' game. It's like GT5, as long as they are making prologues, they aren't spending time on the game everyone wants.

What do you mean? There hasn't even been a current gen GT game. So far these guys have made DiRT and Grid.

Codemasters churns out like one racing game each year though.

IGN preview suggests that the physics model has been seriously overhauled.

About time - the F1 game will have to seriously impress me to merit a buy.

You are right, money is no problem. I dont trust those demo's to much. But i think i remember the DiRT demo being awesome, the finished product wasnt imo. :)

I don't know why are Codmasters always showing this renders which are looking 100 times better then their games, it's going to look something like Gird, nice but ruined buy the blury, overbloom and brown picture, really hate this. Latest gameplay by Codemasters is dissapointing aswell, total arcade crap, their games used to be fun and a bit more sim, but not they are just ultra fast arcady crap like driving on rails.

What's up?
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Though "I don't have time to play with myself" still plays. Always will. :) (3 Hours ago)
  • bleachedsmiles
bleachedsmiles i hear they're making a new Duke Nukem game (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Oh it's still very playable, it just doesn't really evoke the same things it used to. Its approach to interaction was a HUGE DEAL, and that part of it is disappearingly tame now. (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I've only played it on PC, but I can't imagine that the XBLA was significantly rougher. I mean, Doom worked on XBLA, and was still mighty playable... so I'm surprised Duke isn't. (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 ...I have a lot of respect and fond memories of all those games. They were made with a sense of glee and genuine excitement that you *don't find* anymore. Except in No More Heroes or something. (3 Hours ago)
  • bleachedsmiles
bleachedsmiles or something completely terrible..relying on cheap thrills or naughty words and naked women. Although it is time we had our protagonist start saying cheesy lines after every kill (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Surprisingly well isn't well enough to play it a whole lot though. I dunno, to each his own obviously but I kinda thought it'd hold up better. The XBLA version was a rude awakening. Regardless... (3 Hours ago)
