I've seen both games in action at a reviewer's office.

Yeah....I think you should play the game first. See it's not a direct PC-port. What makes it a 'pc version' is the fact that it shares the EXACT same issues (no filters, ugly textures and a 2 clean look that makes it look ugly) and it looks as, if not worse, than the pc version.
You'll understand what I mean, when you play the game.

Thing is, I love the Resi games. You can still enjoy Code Veronica..its just that the whole "HD" look it got, didn't do it any good. (It shows the game's ugly imperfections cuz of the clean look, I dunno how to explain it well)
God Of War and Ico & SOTC aged well, and were remastered WELL.
RE4/CodeVeronica aren't true HD remakes. Cuz they didn't change the textures to comply with the HD-resolutions. They only umped the resolution and left the 480p textures.
It's a shame cuz these 2 resident evil games are amazing. I was looking forward to play CV but the dreamcast version is still the best version to play (graphics-wise).
For RE4 the wii version is the best version (graphics-wise).

The already clean textures both games got, ADD to its beauty (graphically). Another prime example would be PN-03.
If a game uses clean/basic textures, then upping the rez, will only make it sharper and better looking.
Thing with resi games is, they use alots of fog/filters/effects in their original versions. So when played in high rez, you somehow miss that artsy look. Again I don't know how to explain this well but u'll see when u play the game.
....you dont need to buy an inferior version of RE5.
RE4 is the same, just with bad graphics and no co-op. Same boring non-RE gameplay, same enemies, same animations for most of them, same A.I., same weapon upgrade system, same weapons in general. Actually RE5 is a barebone copy of RE4, but lol, anyways...
If you already own RE5, you dont really need RE4 anymore. Only good thing for hardcore fans is, you can now play it on a 360. Capcom should have made a new or modified RE5 graphics engine and some new gimmicks (kinda like the Halo CEA remake, which is a true HD remake).
I doubt it was RE4, because back when it came out the game was nothing short of revolutionary. Just seeing footage of the first level was enough to make me buy a Gamecube, even when I knew a PS2 version would come out later that year
But look at Crapcom now. Port after port, DLC galore, oh and I guess they're doing ripoffs of God of War and Monster Hunter too
