first 2 games were pretty poor..3rd time lucky?

I'd be interested in seeing the multiplayer..as thats something that does keep improving with this franchise

I can't wait to see the gameplay.
Even though I liked the first 2...MP for me was bad for 2 reasons.

1. Took one hell of alot of time to kill someone (I hate games like that).

2. The amount of range the bullets of the Bullseye and the assault rifles was super short compared to SP.
You had to be at a certain close/medium range for the shots to hit or else it wouldnt reach the enemy, REALLY annoying.

Hopefully they fix that and make the MP fun.

For all the Gears machoism, you do at least find the invading force as a believable type scenario.Same too for Halo even if you detest the series.Resistance just screams b-movie.Most areas are poorly realised and it feels very much like what it probably is ie Sony asking for there to be a competing fps in the style of a Halo

I have to say, it looks like this gen of consoles is finally peaking. This game looks spectacular, judging by these screens. The environments, lighting, and shaders in general look super great, and sharp. Looking forward to seeing this in action.

I'm not sure how it works but Resistance really grows on you
I remember hating the second game but I kept playing and the levels started to become more exciting eg suburban backyards, swamps, it kinda just gets better and better as it goes along until you beat it and go you know what this was a really great game

I wasn't a fan of the first two games either m8.

i've enjoyed them all, the first more-so then the second. it has a certain feel to it, quite old school like valve games. this is looking and more importantly, sounding pretty good. campaign co-op is reason enough for me.

3rd screenshot's colour palette remind anyone of HALF LIFE 2?

3rd and 4th, was thinking the exact same thing though. 4 looks like it was lifted right out of the prison area in HL2.

Loved the first two. Can't wait to see what the 3rd is about.

Second game was quite "epic" in design, and loved the visuals. Gameplay felt a bit average, and i really hated the midget feeling. The hero always feels like a pint-sized man running with big guns.

The screens give a terribly dated visual that no filters can hide, especially those chimera models.
Went downhill since the first, i doubt it can get much better.

the first picture...the monster looks worse that models in Doom 3 and that came out ages ago

This better run at 60fps and 1080p judging by a couple of those screens.

Will take a look at it in due time, Insomniac have come out and said "this is our best game yet".The 50's had the invention of the silicon transistor and therefore the first computer CPU. It's a lot more "modern" than you think.

Res 1 and 2 were highly enjoyable games imo, yes they felt more like a pc shooter than a console shooter but thats not a bad thing, it felt simlar to when you play half life 1 on a console (no i am NOT comparing this game to half life before you bite) but resistance 2 did not deserve all the flak it had as with resistance 1, because of all the shit it got, i went itno it expecting a really shit game, and what i got a was highly enjoyable experience, would i replay them? no, but i enjoyed my single time run through of them.

Yeah they could of been better but they was still damn good games when you compare them to most shooters (obviously its not going to be as good as halo: reach CoD etc etc, this in my eyes has never been a AAA title)

kinda like Halo 2, as much flak as this game got (from the internet not reviewers) and yes i also gave this game a good kicking, but when i sat back and started comparing it to everything else at the time FPS wise it was a damn good shooter, just when i cpompared it to the daddys at the time (Halo:CE Half life 2 and doom 3) it was to me a poor game (single player wise, MP it was a fucking gem)

Think people need to start judging games based on the average not compare them to the best, most games dont have a chance if you do that, its like comparing DMC 4 to ninja gaiden... Gaiden dont stand a chance ( i fucking kid lol)

Absolutely hate the design of the Chimera. Not a fun enemy to kill.

I had nothing against the first 2 games, i played through them and i had a fun time. I hope this is another step forward as the second game.

Really dislike and disliked the 1st, the 2nd i loved especially the mp. Competitive was fun, the co op was where it was at though.
