Rumble Roses isn't in the same league as DOAX. The characters don't have much personality and the overall execution is just 'ewe'.
I would feel very uncomfortable if someone saw me play this game. Actually I would feel dirty just playing it...

DOA girls have more personality? Where did THAT come from? Anyone that played the PS2 RR knows that is pure bullshit.

DOA follows the empty "doll" look japanese otaku like. The only place you can see ANY facial expression from the DOA girls is in the ending CG! Everywhere else, they ALL have the SAME vacant, looking-at-the-space face.

RR follows the more fetishist look that salarymen like. Each character has not only different facial and body models, but also facial expressions and interaction scenes and moves. That is even bigger in this sequel, where what you do in the ring will change the mood of your partner.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't even type it!

I could see the humour of DOAX but this goes beyond any point of subtlety and is just distasteful. But maybe that's just me (way beyond the horny teenage years).

What i meant was that these girls look generic and unappealing to me in the way they are designed. I prefer the way the DOA girls are made.
It's the same that I prefer the art style of Final Fantasy over that of Oblivion.
That doesn't make it a bad game, it's just not suited to my personal taste.

Lol, though I gotta kind of agree, those videos made me feel a bit creepy. Don't get me wrong, I like women and all, and don't mind this game in general, but this part of the game just doesn't feel right. I don't know why, cuz DOAXBV was not really any different but it just doesn't seem the same. Maybe cuz at the end the girls are all brushing the camera away embarrassed and calling you, "Creep", "Pervert" and such.

Or maybe because in DOXBV the girls are enjoying themselves and you accidently stumbled upon them (yup, that's it) , whereas this game you're actually forcing the girls to do really unconfortable and embarrassing things.

Oh well, I'll probably wait for DOAXBV2 for the Se... I mean Xbox, as I enjoyed the first one for some reason. Guess I'm a DOA fan at heart =P.

I agree with you as well as others, but that's not what you were saying earlier. Anyways, there are ways to express your distaste for this game without sounding all high and mighty . Since you are way beyond your teenage years it wouldn't kill you to act like it. That is, assuming you're not way way way beyond your teenage years, which in that case a lot of things could kill you.

But whatever, men don't stop being horny as they get older, just less so, if at all. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see men over 40 playing this game, or ones who have girlfriends/wives.My friend plays these kinds of games and watches porn WITH his girlfriend. Which incidently was how I was introduced to DOAXBV in the first place since I typically will not piay these kinds of games. But, I currently have no GF. And probably won't for a while, since a few months back I was browbeaten into dating someone I didn't want to. Her boss, who treats her like his daughter, was my landlord where I was running my shop. He called me to talk about renewing my lease and asked my if I had a girlfriend in the same conversation.

But regarding the situation I just presented, by your arguments, there's no hope for my friend but there's hope for me even though I don't play these kinds of games? Lol, you make 0 sense. I can tell you this, all of my friends who are dating/married wouldn't bother coming to a board and preach about something as silly as this game. I'm no better by coming to this board and doing the same a la defending this game. But, at least I'm not fooling myself, and will snap out of it after some R&R time and move on.

ive seen quite a few video's where they show a decent looking fighting engine with small bits of lucha libre etc - would consider picking this up if the engine was rated highly in reviews (or if a demo is put on XBLM)

sexism aside, this looks like it's gonna be a real phunny game. Sure it has that sexy component to it, but I actually had to laugh during the "Limbo" part. It cannot be taken that seriously, but if you're a heterosexual male or a lesbian, you might enjoy it even more due to the sweet (but quite comical) art-direction of the game.

But, it's true, this is very sexistic and I can understand that a few ppl. feel offended by it. It's easy - just don't play it, read news about it, and so on. . . ...

I will play it and I will surely show it to my girlfriend for a couple of laughs.

The Shape makes a good point. This game was designed with a emphasis on Eastern culture, not Western. Therefore, I'm not suprised that a lot of people in the States found it to be a bit...Xtreme. (Don't even get me STARTED on Hentai. Now, THAT'S disturbing!)

However, I consider myself to have a strange sense of humor, and I find stuff like this to be a laugh riot. I enjoyed the first game, and I'll definitely be picking this one up, and will set it aside the likes of Katamari Damacy, Vib-Ribbon, and all of the other games in my "Crazy Crap" collection.

I'm here to bring some more hate to this game. I just want to say that these chicks look bulky as hell.

With that said I've had this game on pre-order for a long time now. And if it sucks as much as the first game then Konami has truly failed.

Yeah, those girls, no matter how much skin they show, look ugly for some reason. They are nasty looking. I strongly prefer DOA girls.
