Activision press release:
ACTIVISION PUBLISHING’S SECRET SERVICE
PUTS THE PRESIDENT’S LIFE IN GAMERS’ HANDS
SANTA MONICA, CA – OCTOBER 10, 2008 – Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today that Secret Service will be released later this year for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Playstation®2 computer entertainment system, and PC. The title will allow players to assume the role of an elite agent, tasked with protecting America’s top leadership.
Secret Service takes place on Inauguration Day in Washington D.C. An extremist assault has been launched against the capitol - security has been compromised and it is unclear who is friend or foe. There is no time for negotiation as you are thrust out of the shadows and into the line of fire in order to protect the nation’s leaders. The action takes place among famous landmarks and everywhere in between, including both Marine One and Air Force One.
A tactical first person action game full of plot twists and revelations, Secret Service features story and level design contributions by Daniel Arey, who previously worked on Uncharted, the Jak series and the Crash Bandicoot series.
“This game is a unique addition to the first person action genre, with a rich storyline set across famous locations and the need to use both lethal and non-lethal force to achieve your objectives,” said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Secret Service brings a nice refreshing spin to fans of run-and-gun games.”
Secret Service will be available for $39.99 on Xbox 360, $29.99 for Playstation®2 computer entertainment system, and $19.99 for PC. The Secret Service videogame is not approved, endorsed or authorized by the U.S. Secret Service.

Really appreciable, its funny and appreciating at the same time to see a game yet again released for !!"PS2"!!, Voila!!!
Its great to see PS2 having such long legs and great life, having said that, I remember how original xbox fanboys used to talk competition, and press totally supporting xbox, funny indeed, and even more than that: ironic!

Posted by broman Funny yet somehow not surprising. Dead Rising went to the family-friendly Wii but not PS3. Sony just can't catch a break this gen.
Come on, such underwhelming visuals for a next-gen 360 game to be, should stay as far away from PS3 as possible. Heh, devs' underpowerment shouldn't be carried over to iconic systems.
Posted by Doctor_Hades Looks very mediocre visually... are you sure these are 360 screenshots and not PS2 ones?
Did you even read the description?!
It's a budget game, they're not going for graphics.
Also, I suggest you turn on your PS2 (if you even have one) and check the graphics, because they do not look as good as this game, as mediocre as it is.

ps3 iconic system? i think you mean "cult" system... as in, few own it.
And the difference between the ps2 and xbox was that the ps2 hit earlier, was cheaper, and was less techically advanced than the xbox...sound familiar?
I do agree though.. ps3 owners wouldn't even want this..they should start putting these kind of budget games through xbox live though. Rather than keep rehashing retro games that nostalgia has made us believe were way better than they actually are.

Heh:), I don't think 'few' own it, its twice the price of 360,
came out after a whole year of 360(actually 1 and a half year after it in Europe), currently the HD console leader in Japan,
only a few thousand behind 360 in europe(a shame as 360 came a whole year and a half before PS3 in Europe),
already oversold 360 in France :) :) :),
only in confrontation in america, and still outselling 360 there the whole past year-------
I don't see 360 even standing a chance if it had not gone for 2 consecutive price-cuts and bought 3 Rpgs.
Whatever, that went way off topic, but you got the point ;).
ON_TOPIC: its glad to see a PS2 game still being made(even when the so called formidable competition is long dead ;)--- but seriously, they should not port it to any HD system.

for the PS3 being more complex mechanically(and harder to program), more expensive, and a thousand times more hyped, multiplatform games usually run smoother and look slightly better on the 360. now THAT is FUNNY! I kept telling people the 360 was going to be the better hardware.
So you get a system that is much easier to program, easier to port to and from, more memory, better gpu, and games that run and look a bit better. Easier, Cheaper, Better. Now do you wonder why they chose not to make a PS3 version? :)

i cant believe a game as z-list and crappy looking as this is sparking a fanboy argument....hahaha.
also i think they are releasing it on the PS2 rather then the PS3 because PS2 has more users then the PS3(more chances of sales) so its only sensible for a budget game
if this game can run on a PS2 then i dont aspect anything unique about the gameplay or AI or whatever but for £20-25 might be worth playin.

@vspectra06: But if you live in an apartment, with those kind of noises and atmosphere, it hits home. If not the scariest, one of the best horror films up there with Exorcist. (42 minutes ago)

Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (7 Hours ago)

Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (13 Hours ago)

Given who is making it, it's sure to be fun as well
As Cooleo said, this is a budget game so its not going for AAA graphics, sounds intersting will wait to hear more.
