The motionblur is a bit overdone in my opinion. Other than that it is shaping up nicely.

Pushing animation is terrible. Arms on springs.

Yeah, the animation coupled with the actual pose or stance of the character really cripples this as far as realism goes. The character doesn't lean or adjust leg position or movement according to the terrain as he goes over it. You might as well be controlling a wooden plank. This is something where a Euphoria based physics system would work wonders, and I'm really amazed that developers still aren't making more use of that engine. I understand this is an indie game, but still...surely middleware like Euphoria should be available like most SDK's are now for free.

Looks as stiff as Super Alpine Racer...
Fun to play but not really fun to look at:

You guys talk as it this is a game just released on all platforms for $60. LOL. Looks amazing for a couple of people working on it in their spare time. More than what I could do and most of you as well. I would love to see a new SSX game come out with this.

Was going to say the same thing. Looks stiff as shit. Pretty ugly if you ask me.

I understand what you're saying, but it's not 1996 any more. Something like that will stand out given the nature of the game they are making. It'd be like making a motorbike game where the rider is constantly sat up straight on his seat even when going around corners. It's just going to look wrong no matter what excuse you dress it with.

Lol when u said this I thought about this tiny circular track I was driving on in trials fusion, and it's hilarious how the guy does just that.

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Not "Here, you can have it all and become a god that can knock over a 30 tonne beast!" Had to be a balance there. There wasn't one. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite having a perk slot system too. Only being able to equip a couple to suit what kind of style you want to play as. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Little things that could have elevated the game from being just 'OK' to deserving the praise it got. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite another solution for repetitive combat and progression is a weapon maintenance system, sparser ammo, and making each machine have a unique invulnerability to certain attacks. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite A simple solution would have been a command wheel function for overridden machines. Attack, defend, stay, suicide attack, follow etc (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite the maps design didn't facilitate it. Like I say, poor design everywhere. (1 Hour ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @Tiz: I just think its sloppy AI coding, and just a general lack of want of doing it that way. One other reason is the on rails system for automatic riding (1 Hour ago)
