I like the look of the game, it reminds me of the DC game. I hope they get formula right :)

It doesn't look all that good in those pics, WTF?!
Anyways, I can't wait for this game, I love Sonic, but Sonic only, screw those other punks.

As I suspected; this game is a revamped version of the Dreamcast game. And there goes Sonic as smooth as cgi in extreme resolution while the background suffers.

Looks not so hi-poly.. I think it's a game you must see in motion to like it..

This game better be 60 fps.

Yeah, Sonic has serious AA\filtering applied while the background isn't so smooth, but that level doesn't look bad enough to be simply called a revamped DC version.
Everything in motion is smooth and looks great(you've seen videos?), and the fact that Sonic looks so much improved is a good thing. Compared to the videos, though, Sonic does look too smooth in these shots.

I just hope there will be more "action" stages in this game, less boring stuff.

I don't think it looks all that great either, some of the textures seem very lo-res.

Does anyone else agree that the first shots of this game looked better?

Sonic is defetively not himself....

Why the hell wuld they need cars??? Wasnt he darn faster then them in then then in the first place, I recall him hitting 600 km/h.

But beside that, it looks good, specialy the last pics :)

I don't think it's just a revamped version of the DC game. I think the guys at SEGA put the whole orca scene thingy just for nostalgia's sake... which is cool for us who played the first SA.

In regards to graphics, it's true floor and BG textures don't look as sharp as Sonic himself, but I don't think it'll matter since you'll pass through at 200 mph....

Looking forward to this one :)

Yeah, especially that first one. First batch of shots of anything seems to always look best, eh?

You know that's just target footage, right?

Btw, since when could sonic fly? what the hell.

Glad they brang back the whale, he was awesome.
Commented on 2006-09-12 21:42:37
ofcourse sonic is rendered at higher resolution, when he's running so fast, his body is all that you would see clearly, you won't even notice the detail in the background (or the lack there of)

Not quite correct. The very first footage of next gen Sonic was rendered in-engine in realtime. There's never been any pre-rendered "target footage" of it, and it's mostly the angle of the shot that decides whether it looks great or not. Later shots seem to lean more towards what you'll actually be seeing when you play, as opposed to crazy zoom on the Sonic model to show it off.

Since when do screenshots of people/hedgehogs in mid air mean they can fly?

Sonic Jak-X Demolition Ratchet Gladiator Emerald Whale Beach Adventure.

They seriously need to fire who ever is responsible for the engine and world art. The xbox1 or gamecube could easily run this at 640x480.

What's up?
  • KORNdog
KORNdog that's my understanding of it anyway based on the little i've read about it. seems like it'll happen though. (24 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog less risks (not like ubi are particualrly great in that regard anyway) and just barrier for them to do their job. (26 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it would be a conglomerate and that can be creatively very limiting if they don't fully understand the industry they've just dipped their toe in by buying a major publisher. (26 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts Also, for the first time in BioWare's history, they are finally using full facial capture to record the actor's performance. Plus its the first time the Mass Effect team is using the Frostbite engine. (34 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @nostradamus: BioWare talks Mass Effect Andromeda squadmates, cut content and that missing release date: [url] Read 5th answer. (36 minutes ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus @Moonwalker: well, i'll on a leg and say its a "lie". It seems on par with DA:I, and if they think thats fine for a reveal trailer, then it doesn't bode well for the final product. (41 minutes ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus almost finishing jak and daxter. So much fun. Whay are a pos knack 2 being made, and not a new Jak? (48 minutes ago)
