i am interested in the story for this. i like how you just follow these guys around and you can see them changing physically and probably mentally

although i am disappointed they already spoilt how they will look near the end of the game :\

I wonder if they've used enough bloom.

Hehe! seems most devs like to go OTT on that effect which i bloody well hate!

At least we get to play marines/mercenaries this time. Seems like the game industry is getting some creativity back.

One of the very few new IPs of 2012. I really hope this marriages gameplay and storytelling and throws all our expectations out the window. A war game hasn't emotionally fucked me up since Brothers in Arms.

Or then, Matt Williams (the writer) has to eat a lot of crow.

I hope they get to story right. If it fails to deliver I have a feeling the whole game will have lost it's appeal.

Gameplay looks a bit jenky. An impactfull military shooter sounds great on paper. But the last game to promis such a thing turned out to be laughably bad (homefront)

I predict a shallow, dude-bro, throw-away story, unlikable characters, and mediocre gunplay. I'll be shocked if it actually delivers on any of its promises. We'll see i guess... I think we can all agree it will bomb sales wise tho.

Release this already, i dont want it but just annoyed about how early publishers announce some of their games.

I quite agree. I was just thinking there has been a real lack of soldier games of late. The only think that could improve this would be if they added space marines to it and set it all to a hip hop soundtrack by DJ ice box.

I'm 99% sure this will be a mediocre game. A generic TPS in a dessert setting. Gameplay and controls look very jerky to me.

game looked WAY WAYYY better back when it was first shown (it used a different engine as well)

now it looks like complete crap

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (17 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (17 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (18 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (18 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (18 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (18 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (19 Hours ago)
