Page 1 2 >>graphically it's no where even close to amazing, but at least the characters don't look like oiled up barbie dolls, so i guess that's a plus. it does look as if it could be fun, if you're into the whole tactical RPG thing.
This game better be in 60 fps :)
Why are people still calling games "next-gen"?
That was fine before Zero Hour. Now the 360 is actually here, which makes it current-gen. If anything, the Japanese developers are having difficulties getting up to speed with current-gen. If you want to talk about next-gen type games, you're talking about stuff that will be running on upcoming PC architecture, and MAYBE the PS3, but I doubt it, since Sony is notorious for their crappy hardware and boosting specs on paper.
Kai_Ozu is correct, as well. Not every game is going to look like Gears of War. And let us not forget that Gears of War, despite what you may see in pre-rendered (as in pre-recorded, not cgi) trailers, is still plagued by frame rate drops. They say they have it running at 30 fps, which in my opinion, shouldn't even be considered current gen.
If you over-estimate the 360's power, you're going to be disappointed. Not to say it's not incredibly powerful, but some people tend to mistake the 360 for some kind of NASA supercomputer.
If you relax about the current-gen/next-gen crap, and just appreciate a game for it's overall aesthetic quality and gameplay, then you'll be a lot more pleased by the games and the console itself.
Secondly, I highly doubt it will run at 60fps on release. I played it at Zero Hour and if they want it to run at 60fps, they've got another years worth of work to do.
Half Life 2 ran alright on the old XBox, but it was also dumbed down in terms of graphic quality. The resolution was much much lower than what most PC's run at, and the effects and textures were turned down for optimal performance.
yeah right...
I love how you said you owned both, who hasnt?
I really don't care that much about graphix at least not if i like gameplay and the story. my god i have played ff7.
I still love FF7 today, but it was basically the best lookin rpg to date when it came.
The way I see it, in Japan people seem to have a dislike to the Xbox 360, so it would make sense for them to make it region free, so the rest of the world can have a look at the game and to help it's sales...right....?
oh it's a western game, this looks like shit, who cares about gameplay and stuff if it looks like shit?
it's a japanese game, i don't care fpr graphix!1!!!, cause it has gameplay and stuff

A lot of us here who loves 2d games, who can play SNES or even NES games today, heck i even replay some of my PS1 games,in fact im gonna replay chrono cross and Trigger before BD is out.
The thing is,look at what kind of power 360 is,you could basically make a cartoonish game like with BD,i do get that small japanese dev cant dev something as beautiful, however they should atleast be able to make better "eye candy" then this, look at the characters they look like they are from some PS1 game.
These dev need to unlock atleast some of the power of 360,or else why not dev for the xbox?
More XBOX is out then 360's i fail to see this game getting much of sales when 360 has much lesser installbase to this date then xbox, and then delivering ps1 graphic.
And before someone writes, but its good that xbox360 get support, well,i fail to see anyone buy this rpg over all other kind of small rpg's coming to ps2 all the time.
