im looking forward to Tekken x Street fighter more than this. Street fighter gets so repetitive, not that many combos etc.

Im certainly not. Im not nearly as confident in seeing SF characters in the Tekken universe as i am seeing Tekken characters in the SF universe let alone how that will play out. But i guess its wait and see. Anyways this game is looking awesome. Better than i thought it would.

same. never liked the SF4 art-style, nor it's gameplay all that much. much more interested in seeing SF characters in the tekken gameplay and artisitic style personally.

although tekken tag 2 has my interest more then both.

I hope the Tekken version doesn't play like Tekken 6 or look anything like it. Tekken 6 was the biggest let down in the history of fighting games.

Based on what? You mashing out for 10 minutes and then getting bored? Tekken 6 is the best tekken so far. I agree the graphics aren't the best but the game itself is solid enough to excuse that. Especially compared to SFIV who i just for the love of god can't understand why people call it a nice looking game. Not commenting on the art styke (because i on't really like it) it still doesn't look especially impressive. The stages in particular look rather unimpressive what with low poly counts and lowres, blurry textures.

Besides, if the Tekken x SF version does play like Tekken just don't play it you artard. That's why they are making two versions.

As for this game, i'll give it a try because of the Tekken bit but i doubt i'll manage to get in to it this time either. I just don't like the 2D gamepay that much.

Not too exited about this, i never really liked tekken and with awesome games like street fighter 4 and marvel vs capcom 3 i don't really need another fighter.It's pretty much you vs the world on that one buddy, street fighter 4 is a joy to watch and play.Oh dear how wrong you are, there is an incredible amount of depth to the sf games if you put in the time and effort to play it properly.

the simple fact they're in there is just ridiculous. certainly ridiculously enough for ME to consider it as the ultimate fail as far as the fighting genre goes this gen.

As for the art style, maybe. How that looks is up to the individual. I don't like it but if people do then that is fine. What i don't understand is how SFIV is in any way impressive from a graphical stand point.

As for stupid comments about fighters, that's always bound to happen. The crowd that actually dedicates time to fighting games is small and the casuals just don't get it. This game is slow or that game is broken or blah blah blah. Most of the time that crap is just based on ignorance.

Does it have to be technically impressive? I certainly don't find it lacking compared to other fighting games, and since it has it's more cartoony art style, I find its look quite cohesive and consistent. Except for a few shitty character designs(*cough*Rufus*cough*), I think SFIV is fantastic looking.

I played Tekken 6 for over three months straight learning Leo. Logged in over 1,500 battles with that character alone. Tekken 6 just didn't wow me in any area. PS2ish graphics, characters that felt and looked ugly, and backgrounds that made no sense (like the pig stage?). Also a very bad story about a puple man dragon and lame ending that were a waste of time and effort for the dev team.

I don't care how long you played it, if you didn't try to actually master the system and get in to the real intricacies of the game it's all the same. Sure everybody won't like it but i doubt many people that understand fighters would slag it off as it's a pretty damn solid title. The graphics are nowhere near PS2 either for that matter. But hey, i'm not disagreeing either, the gfx in T6 could, and should, have been better. All i'm saying is that the game more than makes up for it's graphical flaws with the gameplay. If you don't like Tekken, sure, but to call T6 the biggest disappointment in the history of fighters is just out right silly as it shouldn't disappoint any fan of the series. And christ, why even drag story up? Why even try to use "bad single player" as an argument against a genre that builds 100% on the player v player aspect? Fighters are not meant to be played alone, except for when practicing. You need to go out, find other skilled players and try to be part of the community to get the full experience out of a game like that. Now i fully get that that's not for everyone but that doesn't mean the game is bad, it's just not the experience you are after.

I mean sure the characters are shit, IF you don't like them. But the characters look and feel as you would expect them to if you played any of the previous games. The backgrounds make no sense? What sortf of bloody argument is that? How much sense does it make to have a street fight in a japanese bathouse then? Not much more than in a rural town with a few pigs if you ask me.If you like the art that's fine, that's exactly what i said. I just don't think it's a great looking game from a technical point of view. SC4 looks better in pretty much every respect imo. Better lighting, more details on both characters and stages and so forth. I just get a bit tired of how people rip T6 to shreds for looking a bit sub par then praising bloody SFIV that doesn't fare all that much better in the technical area. I'm not going to argue over taste and preference in art style as that will get us nowhere fast, but whining over one game then praising another one with pretty much the same flaws pisses me off a bit.

I guess I don't understand criticizing SFIV's technical deficiencies...especially because someone had a beef with Tekken and didn't even mention SFIV. Its style can save it from some criticisms related to character detail, its performance is flawless, and it actually does have some pretty great lighting and particle effects.

I've been a competitve tournament fighter for YEARS, placing high in both tekken and street fighter tournaments. For me, tekken 6 was a huge let down compared to tekken 5's system. I enjoyed SF4 far more than T6, and also thought the art direction and visual presentation was overall more polished than what was offered in tekken. Learning the intricate and deep systems of both fighting games, I must say that street fighter has the more advanced fighting system. Not that I play games because they are technically advanced, but SF4 is fun. At least it was fun until marvel came out. Now anything less... is uncivilized.

It should be a SF Third Strike vs Tekken 2d fighter :)

mmh tekken vs sf will be better than this because the gameplay of SF4 sucks. sf4 was soooooooo bad, not playable with the gamepad. so its a fail.

...so just buy a stick then? It's not like they are especially hard to come by anymore what with SFIV starting a stick craze like never before. I have 3 myslf :P

SF4 gameplay>>>>Tekken gameplay.

Tekken is slow and "tank" like combat which I hate.
I want fast and stylish moves, the only 3D fighting game that can do that IMO is DOA, the rest goes to SF.

IMO, I am more excited for SF x Tekken and not vice versa (though interesting to see it).

I love how the Tekken characters are implemented into SF4 style, Kazuya is the most badass one in the roster!
