Independent game studio to unveil stunning space shooter for PC and game consoles at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany

Guildford, UK - 9th August 2011 - doublesix games, the award-winning independent studio creator of Burn Zombie Burn!, today announces Strike Suit Zero; a unique arcade space shooter in which players will fly a transforming fighter -- known as a "Strike Suit" -- as they battle to save the Earth. Strike Suit Zero will be digitally released on the PC and game consoles in early 2012.

Strike Suit Zero is an action-packed arcade game set in the final hours of a future Earth. The clock is ticking; your planet is about to be destroyed and its only hope is the Strike Suit; an advanced, transforming spacecraft that empowers the player with ludicrous firepower and awesome abilities. Every second is precious; you'll be forced to fight with fury, choose targets on instinct and make snap decisions that will not only affect the outcome of your mission but your path through the game and the ultimate destiny of seven billion lives.

"Strike Suit Zero is inspired by the classic space combat games we all love," said Jim Mummery, Creative Director doublesix games. "But our game goes further – it takes that inspiration, pumps up the pace and injects a massive sense of urgency to excite and challenge the player."

Strike Suit Zero features a dazzling art style, high-speed zero gravity vehicular combat, branching-mission structure, ship designs from renowned Mechanical Design engineer Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex Machina, Steel Battalion) and music from award-winning sound designer Paul Ruskay (Homeworld), and will be presented to the press in the Business area at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne, Germany.

Strike Suit Zero is planned for a digital release on PC and game consoles in the first quarter of 2012. More details about the game will be revealed in the months ahead, so keep an eye out and join the conversation about Strike Suit Zero on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube!

That looks awesome, return of space combat games?!

Loved space combat in Beyond Good and Evil and Halo Reach.

Haven't heard of those, but can see a market for AAA open-ended space combat games with depth in mind, to offset the mainstream market of simple genre games.

Elite was the original open ended space trading/ mining/ banditry game and just a reimagining of that would be amazing I miss the space genre which has all but seemingly died for now.

a non-official sequel to the forgotten omega boost? polyPhony digital, how the mighty have fallen.

About the game

Sdarts how he goes from Frank Castle to The Punisher. At this point, I'm just tired of origins stories. A Marvel and DC movie does this in 2 hours, but it takes 10 episodes/hours for these series. (1 minute ago)

Sdarts So that had far more action than Iron Fist's entire season. Such a shame. As for The Punisher, I don't have much hope anymore, I'm sure they will want to show both his origins as a character and as (3 minutes ago)

Sdarts Huber Syndrome in which he mentions it, one of the producers said in an interview that because they used most of the season's budget on the Ghost Rider storyline, they had to do the Hydra stuff. (4 minutes ago)

Sdarts @KORNdog: I was about to mention those 2 shows as well. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has gotten a lot better through the years, Michael Huber of Easy Allies (formely GameTrailers) did an episode of (4 minutes ago)

KORNdog the ghost rider storyline was awesome. (10 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog tbh the best marvel show is the one that isn't on netflix. agents of shield. started so weak but it's gotten so much better as it goes on. (11 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog season 2 was honestly saved by the punisher. i think the punisher series is the only marvel show on netflix i'll check out before they lose them. (12 minutes ago)
