Wow, they're actually making a Mac version for this game? Nice :-)

yep , Bungie Development team was bigger when they were making HALO , after that they splitted and took the HALO engine with them , Wideload was born and they started making Stubbs. Bungie used to make a lot of Mac and some Windows games , after them being taken by Microsoft they stopped making games for MAC.

Wideload are the gold that made HALO the greatest , thats why HALO 2 wasnt so great , it wasnt made by the whole team that created HALO.

Stubbs reminds me somehow of Destroy All Humans.

@XSAVAGE: IMO was Halo 2 exactly like Halo, but better than Halo.

hmmmm i think most ppl agree that halo1 is better than halo2. now i know why. but i hope they make halo3 more like the first. knowing what i do now, maybe thats not feasable? :(

Not entirely true. Jason Jones (founder) and many original team members are still at Bungie.

Not true. Wideload is composed of ex bungie employees, it was not the "Halo team" though. Alex Seropian was the business mind at bungie, Jones was the game development mind, Matt Soell was the community guy, and contributed to writing. 2 more devs were had left bungie before Halo dev started. Bungie and Wideload are on good terms, with bungie hyping stubbs.

Wideload LICENSED the halo engine, and does not own it. Halo's core engine, AI, and physics programmers (Chris Butcher and Charlie Gough), Music(Marty O'Donnel), Cinematics(Joe Staten), Tools (Noguchi), Artists (Shi Kai Wang, Rob McLees, Lorraine McLees) stayed on. The lead design on Halo (Jason Jones, Jaime Griesemer) stayed on, the producer (Pete Parsons) stayed on. All teams see turnover at the end of a game development, there is no evidence for a mass exodus from bungie, except in the minds of the players that cannot accept change.

Wideload is an exciting company, Aspyr is a great publisher. Stubbs is a big risk and I wish them the best. I will be purchasing stubbs tomorrow, and I'll post a review if anyone would like. I've spoken with Matt Soell (writer for stubbs) and I can tell you he's a fantastic guy.

Any decision you don't agree with on Halo 2, take it to Bungie. They made the game they wanted to make, and it's a fabulicious game. Not perfect, but it's great on a lot of levels. BTW, Team hardcore is surprisingly awesome. Those MLG guys may be on to something.

About the game

What's up?
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @KORNdog: Thanks for that. him liking the game despite: "It even has its own version of Ubisoft’s weary “radio tower” mapping system that has become something of an industry joke." is VERY good news (12 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @MrWhite: Same here. After the many positive comments on NeoGAF and other forums I was expecting more. The gunplay and the sounds of it don't do it at all for me. Maybe just too fast paced for me. (22 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Yeah, wasn't a big fan of the new Doom myself. Bit of a let down. (25 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @alimokrane: [url] also a good read. given this is someone who didn't review far cry 4 well (a game horizon is oft compared to) (26 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane Another good review to *READ*: [url] (29 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @alimokrane: yeah, i always worry when there is a late embargo. but even then they can turn out well critically (doom) even though i'd probably give that game a 6-7 myself. (30 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane Legend of Zelda.. sorry lol (33 minutes ago)
