Super Mario Galaxy prologue

Super Mario Galaxy prologue

Nintendo updated the official page of Super Mario Galaxy with lots of short videos. Here is the first one, showing what seems to be the very beginning of the game.
Update: Added a montage video of all the actions (hopefully).
Update2: And of course I had missed the most interesting one.

It is looking really good, although I saw previous shots and videos of the airships, I'm glad they're playing a prominent role.

If they had brought back the koopa kids and raccoon Mario it could have been better than 3...

I noticed that they're using that silver lining lighting technique around Mario. SC4 and FF13 also seem to be doing this. It looks really nice.

Jade Empire on Xbox and Half Life 2 Episode 1 on PC also used it. Less costly than the more complex lighting effects you see in some games like Halo 3 and other recent titles, but more costly than most of the stuff last gen.

Blim, there's some parts of that video you put up that repeat a few times.

I'd love to see the new fire flowers, the inclusion of them puts this game ahead of Mario64 in potential for me.

I'm loving what I'm seeing from some of those animations, like Mario flipping the Goomba.

"silver lining lighting technique" LOL! Did you just make that up on the spot? Wow. I don't know how many people "just notice" their light system and rename it. I think this is about the 20th name, but the most interesting!

Still waiting for the SMG to arrive.
