Yum! 1 day after pay-day, so that is good (but also coincides with Valentines week- not so good) :o/

I wanted to love the first one but I couldn't stand how poorly the vehicles actually handled. I hope it's improved.. this franchise has so much potential.

Nah, it was easy to love it once you accepted it for what it was. Yes, the handling was tricky on the fastest cars, but you countered for that by slowing down for corners and lifting off for crests.

It made up for it with the ability to go pretty much anywhere, pick up models without a court appearance, do 200+mph without a court appearance, Thelma and Louise-style police chases, the showrooms, all well ahead of its time.

If they can nail it all down pat, then this will be one of the best games made for just going out for a drive (which is another thing I really enjoyed about the first one).

I own it, I've played it, I enjoyed aspects of it. I still think that it's fundamentally flawed.

That's cool, each to their own :o) I agree that it has a lot of potential, so fingers crossed...

I finished the first one, mainly due to me picking it up during a game drought when the 360 was in its infancy. It needs to have improved substantially for it to compete nowadays. I loved the scope of the first one, and funnily enough, I really enjoyed the courier levels where you had to take care of the car and not damage it during transport. But, I hated the ridiculous taxi levels with the piss poor acting and character models/animation, it made me throw up in my m outh a little everytime I pulled over and got the cutscene.

Gamestop has the release date set for Feb. 8th, that date makes sense as its on a Tuesday. Is the Feb. 11th date for Europe?

About the game

What's up?

KORNdog [url] so cool (20 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog hellblade and ryse both had way more basic combat that literally just centered around weak and strong attacks. there was nothing else there to play around with. (22 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog and then you have the boy, who distracts, staggers and sets you up for more volleys. now compare that to hellblade or ryse...and you honestly can't see the difference? (25 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog then you've got the elements associated with the axe itself, where you can freeze enemies (and i assume other elements will be introduced later too) and do powered up elemental attacks (26 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog there seem to be a decent depth to the combat in god of war. with staggers, shield barges, slow mo air juggles, grabs, axe throws, and standard hacking. (28 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @alimokrane: if you think that looks like ryse then i really don't know what to tell you. doesnt look anything like ryse or hellblade to me outside of a camera angle. (29 minutes ago)
  • AndreasZ94
AndreasZ94 @alimokrane: agree, if the enemy variety is there as well it could be an awesome combat system, especially for an over the shoulder camera game. Camera does zoom out for larger fights btw (59 minutes ago)
