Isn't this the PSP version of Tekken?

Well the graphics haven't been changed much from the arcade version it's based on, which is a couple of years old at least, but then this isn't a full-price PS3 game. Namco are also working on Tekken 6, the next proper instalment, at the same time.

No, new version for the PS Network with online battles and leaderboards.

Considering this is a port of the PSP game, saying it looks like a PS2 is a huge compliment. You'd think something like this would be known by now.

The menus are nice.

This is why MS calls it Xbox Live Arcade to avoid the confusion. If Sega came out with a direct port of VF3 for XBLA, almost nobody would be confused about what it is.

Calling it Tekken Dark Resurrection Online for PS3 will cause confusion due to the astronomical hype surrounding the system.

WTF...I don't normally keep up with this series. But I know that in just about all Tekkens Heihachi always dies. How is it that he always comes back? I remember in the last one the damn building blew up and they even said "Hehaichi is dead". WTF is up with that!

Raven incorrectly reported him dead, but he actually survived the blast because he is stronger than a normal man. It blasted him a great distance but he remained in one piece. I think they should do 60's Tekken featuring Young Heihachi.

The PSP version is an updated port of the arcade version. The PS3 got the PSP the same game except it can go up to 1080p. It's splitting hairs but if you look at the graphics you can tell it came from the PSP version of DR and not the arcade one.

A huge letdown? Lol, it's a straight port from a PSP game that's only been made 1080p, what is there to expect or to be let down in? Besides, it looks better in motion. Not that it gets a full 10/10 in graphics even then, but whatever, it's an effing 1080p-port of a PSP game and costs less than 10$. Looks good enough for a PS Network game. It's not like Live Arcade games are graced with beautiful graphics either. :rolleyes:

This thread is getting excessively stupid. You people do realize this is a freaking arcade game -- an old one at that! This isn't Tekken 6 people! Go troll somewhere else -- this is the equivalent of an XBLA game.

And it's so insanely NOT a port of the PSP game. I can't even begin to explain how far off the mark that is. :D

Surely you must have some basic videogame knowledge. These screens are released because there's an upcoming upgrade for the PSN distributed arcade conversion of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, which adds online play. Some of this stuff Blim shouldn't have to tell you, this is a media site after all.

Oh excuse it's a port of data used from both the arcade and PS2 verison of Tekken 5.
