Single player story? Or just MP?
You gotta love the concept of katana slicing through 15th century plate armor :)
So, a Samurai got to medieval Europe somehow before the Edo period began? Is that what this is or...
Also...VIDEO GAMES, not "based on tru historical events"-the video game.

but still it is believed it would hurt like hell, throw You off balance etc...that´s why I like the neck stab in the end of the video
It's around 10:37. And this is a bastard sword I mind you. It's very probably a sharper and more thinner (better armor penetration) blade, than any katana I saw in person. Katana is a very thick sword by any standards, hence it stands no chance against a solid steel plate, mail underneath it and then a gambeson which also deflates the pressure of a strike, on your body.
On the other hand...Samurai´s armor was far superior to simple plated armor of the knights. It used better "technology" and much better metals. But I think it´s obvious, this game is not meant to be a medieval simulator. :-)
Video game.
I just hope they release more like warriors like spartans, mongols...etc. more awesome famous warriors from various countries.
You are right...I fucked that sentence up about the armor. It was meant to be like knights armor better, samurai armor worse. About the video...it just shows, it would hurt like hell...so I don´t get Your point. :-)
However, if you look inside the helmet on 10:41 you would be able to spot a face of a man, that is generally not very bothered by anything to the point of apathy. Cheers.
I dont care how "authentic" it is like you guys. As long as the warriors have awesome proper animations and gear, combat on point which seems to be...its awesome as hell.

And I really hope this game would spawn a singleplayer based sequel with Mount and Blade'ish game mechanics.
Both...fortunately.
So single player isn't just an offline version of the online mode with bots? It has levels, bosses, objectives and a storyline?
Though i do hope there are levels, bosses, objectives and upgrades though and not just online going offline with story attached to it.
Oh man, I would soooooo play as a Hoplite! Or a roman legionaire of around 2nd century AD.

As for the game For Honor, it's mostly fictional but it looks great i'll give it that. the animations are very smooth. the lighting is also great too. I hope this title doesn't get put under the knife of Ubisoft. they've been ruining their reputation this gen.
Spain (which is part of Europe) Established trade with the east since the days of Marco Polo in mid to late 12th century. It's true though that the rest of Europe never really dealt with the east. The Greeks wanted to concur many parts of Asia with "Alexander the great" but they were exhausted in supplies and infantry, and so they retreated back.
