would of been so much better if you were playing as gay tony.

I didn't know they meant gay literally. That was quite hilarious how he was dancing in the club scene surrounded by men. Rockstar's really brave. No wonder that they didn't release the retail game labeled as "The Ballad of Gay Tony"; instead they just called it Episodes of Liberty City. Those sneaky bastards. I can just see the face of some naive kid who tries to pursuade his mom to buy this game, and the look on her face when he pops the game in for the first time should be hilarious. Laugh.

I'm not too sure about that. That would deter the homophobic from buying the game, don't you think. A gay protagonist. It aint gonna fly. Let me be the first to say that I hope it never happens. And don't anybody start getting political on the subject, please.

I saw the commercial for this the other day... Why are they heavily advertising DLC nearly 2 months before it's out? Rockstar must have money to throw around

You didn't know they literally meant he's gay? How could you not know?!? Haven't you played GTA4 yet? This is Rockstar after all, hardly any extra brave for them. And it wouldn't have made any sense to sell it at retail under the title of Ballad of Gay Tony since it also comes with Lost and Damned. Episodes from Liberty City makes perfect sense and isn't sneaky at all.

Come on people, have you not read a single thing about this game before posting? It even says right in the Gamersyde description of this post-- "In this - short - new video, we are introduced to Tony Prince, a key character in this new story where you will play the role of Luis Lopez, Tony's personal assistant." You play as Luis. Tony is gay but Luis is not. Get it?

I don't want to play it simply because of the word gay in the title. I guess you could say that's pretty bad. I'm just not a fan of the wang.

I think it would be a real 'fuck you' to the status quo if a game DID have a gay protagonist.

It reminds me of a film called Le huitième jour, in which the main character, George, was Down Syndrome. One the most heart-warming and at the same time, upsetting films that I have watched in a long time.

I think alot of these homophobic comments are coming from either kids, or adults that just haven't grown up yet. Very sad.

As far as this DLC is concerned, it's looking good, but I fell out of love with the GTA series after Vice City, so I won't be taking the plunge any time soon.

Grow up. And while you're at it, get a sense of humour.

No doubt R* will have come up with all kinds of hillarious scenarios and innuendo to do with gays in general. Just another angle for which they can be controversial as always.

Actually, he was called: Dr. Owen Syndrome, but they called him 'George' for short. The name of the condition as we know it now was a contraction of his profession, firstname and lastname, hence: "down syndrome".

So yeah, he was infact 'down syndrome'...

if a game had a gay protagonist, probably only (mostly) gay people would buy it. Im not homophobic, but people are getting too comfortable with metrosexuality, bisexuals, homosexuals etc. Honestly i see it almost becoming a fad.

Im all for this game just because its all in good humor. But the idea of a gay protagonist as a serious character in a game is over the top in my opinion, and i just dont see it happening.

Wow... if it's not homophobia than I think it's probably just ignorance. That's not an insult, so don't get all knee-jerk defensive.

This is going to be great, but I still need to play The Lost and The Damned.

I like the fact he even changed his Avatar once you pointed out how gay it was!!! Funny as fuck.

Oh well.

On an on-topic kind of note, is GTA IV worth getting? I know I stated that I didn't really see the point after Vice City, but I don't want to miss out either.

I see a lot of hate directed towards GTAIV from a rather vocal minority.. but I don't really get it personally. Yes, it's very much worth getting. What continues to set GTA apart from other sandbox games is variety and story. GTAIV still managed to keep me interested throughout.. which is something that many open world games fail at miserably.

Well, you could just get both DLCs on a disc for 40 bucks you know. That's what I'll do since I didn't purchase TLaD. The main game didn't impress me much, it just lacked the craziness of the previous games. There is a whole apartment in one of the skyscrapers, I went there with a heli when I was bored, wish you could purchase them, it looked stunning from up there.

Too comfortable??!!

Fuck...

At the end of the day, it's the way it's been since humans were on the earth, except we now have names for such behaviour, and the ability for those names to be communicated to a wide audience. Hell, most great civilisations are famed for being ambiguous when it came to sexual practices, the Romans, Egyptians, to name only two. Don't get me wrong, I'm butter side up, always have been, always will be, but I don't feel threatened by the emergence of sexual preferences other than my own. Jeez!
