There is no sense of speed there... I have played Motorstorm on the Ps3 and THAT has sence of speed.

But the concept is great!

could you write down a 1st impressions for us please, that'd be great as I'm constantly on the fence and the reviews haven't been too bright.

Well there are the first vehicles though, what do you expect?I kind of like it. It handles well enough (though it's not awesome, but it works), and I love the freedom.

In a race game? Fast driving vehicles... adrenaline... fun! Why make a racegame with the first 10 cars that cant drive fast? Nobody will play those after they unlocked the "faster" cars...

But I'll wait for some videos with fast cars :)

Ign gives the game a terrible score though ... 5.1 out of 10

I hope next motorstorm gonna be on a such large scale as this but as guys above me said, kind of little sense on speed.

Yeah, people didn't play these Gran Turismo games at all ;)

I got the game this morning so will form my own opinions later but let me be the first to actually say thanks for putting up the videos, i think some people forget just how much effort goes into encoding and uploading almost 1 gig of footage.

Weird that this massive are is only populated by one truck driver (who seems to be following the player character every now and then).

that looked incedibly boring. i'll be renting it to check it out myself, but those vids didnt really instill me with much faith. the AI needs to be like motorstorm, relentlessly agressive, it's what makes those games so exciting to play.

Man, that is an impressive amount of detail for such a massive game. The Pacing seems to be more realistic than over the top(pacing, mind you)...

Obviously its gonna lack a real sense of speed if you play it with the chase cam instead of the bumper cams, all racing games do..
And he was mostly driving around alone and in the 2 first easiest noob races..
It seems wierd to me that ppl still havent understood that this is a baja-type game. It isnt a street racer nor is it a rally racer on narrow forest tracks. Its a baja racer, its all about open wildlands.

This is gonna be awesome with 16 friends online, playing Tag or whatever in the mountains and stuff. Blim did you have any assists on? Were there any such settings?

Ignoring the ugly bouts of screen tear and pop in, the game looks quite attractive and colourful with interesting and varied environments to race through. It looks like a rougher version of MotorStorm, although the scale appears to be much larger than that game. The lighting effects going from day to evening to night looked cool too.

I almost bought the game for the PC until I noticed all the 5/10 reviews, one of which mentioned that in order to advance through the game you have to come first, there is no reward or points for coming second or lower. Those instantly put me off the game.

Are you using boost when you see blue flames coming out of the exhaust.? If so, it seems to have little to no effect on speed. I certainly can't tell if it's making a noise when it's doing it.

Whats the smaller gauge for next to the rev counter.? I can see it jumping about, but can't work out what it's actually supposed to be.

It's a shame this game is getting such low ratings.
