So you guys live in france right? imported the ps3 from japan or were you there for the launch? if you guys did import..was the tax really high? i live in uk and I'm thinking of importing a ps3 next year from japan..due to region free, i could play pal games, ntsc games on it with no problem

and since japan uses the same format for movies as europe..we could play blu-ray movies bought straight from the uk shops.. Just how japanese psp's take PAL UMDs...

oh and, what are you going to do about fixing your ps3? will sony replace it? is it going to take a while since production is so low on new consoles?

Nope, 60fps is too much for the 360 for the moment.

Splicer, the Japan region for BD is the same as the US, not the same as Europe. Sorry, EU BD movies won't work. But you could always import BD's from the US.

Sony has a 1 year warranty on all PS3's iirc.

1. bluray has not the same regioncoding like DVD. USA and Japan have A1, Europe has the same code as Africa. So UK BluRay's wont work on japanese or US PS3.

2. Europe PAL DVD's dont work on japanese PS3 even if they have the same regioncode. japanese PS3 does not support any PAL format (I was very p**** when I read "PAL format is not suported on this system")

3. I didnt' pay any tax at all. just tell the seller or your buddy that he writes "used PS2. gift - value 100USD" on it ;-)

Hmm.. you guys know the Team NINJA movie on any game that they made? That movie plays at 60 fps. but if you stream 'em.. the 360 can't play 60 fps movies. *gently smacks his 360*

I have got a mac: I can't see this file!!! I downloaded the HD one.
I have the latest version of Windows Media Player for mac and doesn't work.
I installed the plugin "flip4mac" in quicktime (latest versions) and it doesn't work!!!
WTF.
