Xbox 360 PS3

It's been quite a long time since the last First 10 Minutes, due to the lack of games and of publishers actually willing to send us some (and people wonder why we want to go to Gamersyde.com...). I received Virtua Tennis last week and since I'm still in the process of integrating the new capture hardware into my usual workflow it was the perfect test. A game I really recommend, especially to those who still have friends coming over from time to time. (Xbox 360 version)

Looks nice and gameplay is pretty solid. Only I don't like that the players jump so much. :(

When you play the game more, you're realizing that you're not jumping anymore. It's useless for winning games, and you'll learn to position better (and thereof quit jumping). Jumping is the last way out, as the competitor gets almost a free shoot to just put it in.

For those who haven't played the game, you're jumping when you're pressing the smash button and you aren't close enough to the ball. If you position yourself correctly and *then* push the button, he won't jump.
I haven't seen Blims video yet, so I'm not saying he's a jumper. Snooper's a jumper. ;)

Oh, that is some awesome capturing device you have there, Blim. Snoopete`s rear assets are also nice. Good job all around :)

The PS3 version is a slight better, shame it does not have online play.

The graphics are somthing i really dont like, the characters look a little bleh and the animations lack variety. They do the exact same motions over and over again and it kinda make it looks bad.

no the animations are pretty varied...well as varied as forehands and backhands can go. They change from player to player...even in campaign you get to choose from 4 different sets of animations for your strokes. Overall the graphics range from great to average depending on what court your playing on and which pro player you are using. Get Federer and Nadal playing in Barcelona and the game looks amazing in HD
