Electronic Arts and Microsoft released this trailer of The Godfather on Xbox 360 yesterday on the Marketplace. I also want to announce that I've decided from now on to encode the 720p movies to WMV files using the VC1 codec. Why such a change? There are a lot of (good) reasons: The codec itself is much more efficient than XVID, it's accelerated by a lot of recent graphics card, it's supported (or will be officially really soon) by ffmpeg so it's now available on all platforms as open source, and finally the Windows Media Center owners can watch the videos directly on their Xbox 360. The encoding time is almost 3 times longer than before for me, so this is a big change but I hope everyone will like it. Media Center owners, let me know if it worked! Update : The media servers 6&8, and the streaming server are finally back online. Yay!
that's a pretty big deal, as its probably the biggest stumbling block for the tech. (42 minutes ago)
Stuff like inside out tracking and eye tracking, as well as motion sickness solutions should be in place. We've already got a product in development that claims to have eradicated that already (42 minutes ago)
The potential of it is massive. More so than what traditional gaming now is. Second gen is going to be very interesting. (44 minutes ago)
We're sort of being spoon fed bit sized "experiences" that either work or don't. I suppose that's part of the freshness of it, though. I just wish some big devs would get more involved. (45 minutes ago)
@KORNdog: Ironically, though, the VR scene is also playing it safe. Too safe. There's not enough big risk titles like RE7. (46 minutes ago)
I can't really wrap my head around being dismissive of indie games. That's a pretty broad label. (3 Hours ago)
put and end to corridor/cinematic/c utscene/qte/playforyousoyouwon'tmissathi ousoyouwon'tmissathing ng experiences, and start to see more games like Prey/BotW and the sort. Nuts&Bolts is an awesome game, as well. We need N&B2 (5 Hours ago)
