The Outfit 720p images

The Outfit 720p images

THQ is on fire today, and revealed nine new images of The Outfit, its next-gen Mercenaries-like. Sounds cool, even if there's nothing special by now.

Interesting how they're going for the realistic look on buildings while the characters look like Army Men. But I guess it's a conscious choice.

Reminds me a bit of Freedom Fighters.

I think they are going for the World War 2 comic book action hero soldier look, you know the ones that could take out a whole battalion by themselves and then beat the crap out of a Nazi officer with their bare hands! :)

slabs ROFL!
I agree, this ain't the traditional WW2 approach.
But this game looks interesting, I hope Relic keeps up the good work, they make really good games.

Yeah, but the soldiers shadows (on themselves, in pic#9) are looking like Tetris!
But it´s still a great looking game! Sweet textures! This game should definetly be on my "Wanna buy!"-list

"Reminds me a bit of Freedom Fighters."

Please.. Please don't... Don't mention that game. I'll just get all bitter about Eidos wanting IO to churn out the annual Hitman game instead of making a great follow up to Freedom Fighters.

I loved that damn game.

I like Hitman too, mind, it's just that.. it's not gonna get better until they actually make CHANGES to it.

This game looks like it could be innocent arcadey fun though, I'll be keeping an eye.

The picture with the tank dropping down with the parachute (pic 5) reminds me a lot of Metal slug, so I will think of this game as a 3D next-gen Metal Slug :D

I saw a video of this one and while the effects are huge, environments are too static. It looks stupid and oldish when you bomb the ground and all you get is a black spot painted to the texture. Next-gen action is about total destruction imo. The same problem can be found in Gears of War; sharper visuals alone do not make next-gen games.

"Reminds me a bit of Freedom Fighters."
This don't remind me of Freedom Fighters (although i also want a sequel)
This reminds me of Mercenaries, that Lucas Arts game, where you do missions and get airdrops that drop vehicle's, ammo, weapons; thats almost the same concept as this game only this is the WW2 version :S

blmbox @IRAIPT0IR: Maybe so, but people generally consider the story to be an important aspect of video games nowadays. (3 Hours ago)

IRAIPT0IR I think a story should be the last thing in a list of things that goes in a videogame, fun gameplay being the first. IMO. (4 Hours ago)
