The storyline of Dead Space Extraction

The storyline of Dead Space Extraction

After scaring the hell out of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 players, EA wants to give Wii players their share of fear with Dead Space Extraction, a rail shooter which will hopefully be just as exciting and terrifying. The development team tells us more about this prequel in this new trailer.

At the risk of sounding completely negative, who friggin' cares about Dead Space Extraction? An inferior, on-rails version of Dead Space? Thanks, but no thanks.

Yeah I don't see why the Wii couldn't have gotten the same game as the rest of us. But holy shit, the production values for this game are high. The voice acting was pretty awful, but the game looks and sounds awesome. Considering the hardware they got to work with, its impressive. But yeah, a proper version of Dead Space would have been the survival horror one.

I'm looking forward to Extraction.

The Dead Space universe has been cool so far, and honestly I cannot get enough of it. Top it off, the one serious flaw in the original Dead Space, was the lack of character development and the lack of a character driven plot. It's that type of thing that separates the good games from the AAA crowd. Judging from the developer diary, EA has addressed that issue, which on some levels should make Extraction a better game than the original.

Yeah its a rail shooter, but so long as it is a good rail shooter, which piles on the creepy atmosphere like the first game, plus joins the web comic and anime in filling out the Dead Space universe with more relevant stuff, why complain?

I'll happily pick this up next month. Looking forward to see how this thing performs running in 1080p under Dolphin anyway. Which all things considered, is going to be my preferred way to play the game anyway.

bleachedsmiles @digi_matrix: i've only really spent any decent amount of time on DC universe. I'd say that required a hell of a lot more grinding to get anything than Destiny does (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX They're extraordinarily well orchestrated and balanced multiplayer games too, and lack the RPG layer. I don't think there's really that much overlap. (3 Hours ago)

digi_matrix Isn't the issue with Destiny that the grinding is so much more obvious than other loot or MMO type games? Like, the bad RNG, Cryptarch, Engram stuff, respawning on same loc on planets, etc. (3 Hours ago)
