Video PS4 Xbox One

Many people have asked us for a comparison video of both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I can't say I like these videos, so I'll do this one only showing the Griffon sequence. And since the lighting seems slightly different in both versions, this video really should only be used for framerate comparison, and even then... Like I told you, these videos aren't really my thing :)

A comparison between PC release and VGX/Sword of Destiny trailers would be nice.

PS4 version looks a bit crisper, probably due to the higher resolution.

The real difference i see is that in one part it looks a lot brighter on PS4 and more..toned down or darker i guess, on Xbox One. But from what i read on GAF, the X1 has clearly a worse framerate, but neither version is a locked 30fps. Good lord, not even a locked 30fps. I'll just accept it and enjoy it. I know i will enjoy it. Plus....i decided to buy Risen on 360 a few years ago and that framerate was truly laughable. This should be ok.

if this video was to show that the two are barely indistinguishable then fine, but this way of doing comparison isnt really the best :(

Another good way to compare them yourselves is download the Xbox One and PS4 video(s) and directly compare them yourself side by side.

Blimblim

Was the Xbox One's Color space at standard or PC RGB? standard can make some games look a bit.....bland i guess, and PC RGB makes them much more vibrant and colourful, but it also crushes black levels. Unless the tv supports it.

The PS4 version looks more vibrant and clear. It's pretty spectacular what they have done with this limited hardware on both systems though.

Really? Cause i don't see it. I made a comparison of my own by downloading the last video on the Xbox One videos article and downloading the last video in the PS4 videos article. I put the videos next to eachother...and to be honest, i do not see the difference.

One definitely can see it on smaller details like Geralt's chain armor or far away object like trees. It's still great it seems everyone will have an amazing looking game to play, despite all the downgrade haters.

Oh but i agree with that it has clearly seen downgrades. Compare the reveal trailer to this and damn......

I think people are right when they assume if these consoles had not existed, it would have looked like that on PC. But the reality is, they do exist. It still looks awesome.

i appreciate gamersyde doing comparison videos so much . gamersyde have the best quality videos.
just one thing , a side by side comparison is the way to go .
cant compare too much this way .
better if 1 half is ps4 full screen and other half xbox one full screen

Hmm, a bit surprised to hear about worse frame rate on XB since everyone was assuming the opposite (that the PS4's 1080p would result in lower frame rate), lol.

I been playing it on ps4 for a few hours today and it does have frame issues and other issues that are annoying, like stuck on trees and trying to select things(looting).

In fact people would be wrong that the game on PC would have looked as the reveal trailer. CDPR said it would look BETTER on PC than that. That wasn't said after the reveal, but after actual gameplay demo's that looked nowhere near the reveal trailer. CDPR has done the same thing as Ubisoft with WatchDogs. They utterly lied.
I know that the downgrade has been receiving criticism by gamers, but not even near the controversy when Ubisoft did the same thing.
Also, it is not mentioned in any review to date. I guess CDPR's reputation trumps the truth. In my opinion they are now in the same boat as Ubisoft. I will not trust their claims and reveal trailers anymore.

That being said: I will still enjoy the game on wednesday on PC (assuming that it will work on PC and performance is good). Downgrades are no shame for a company, as long as they admit that they did it. CDPR says they didn't. That is what makes them not trust worthy.
You are right in UBI's case I will never buy a pc game from them. Well I did buy last light on sale, but that is my intention. CDPR pulling the same, but making an amazing looking game regardless has stopped me from buying day one as I did with the Witcher 2. I may wait for a sale before buying it also it disappoints me to see this sort of thing from them.

"We just did not have the manpower, budget or the console power to produce the vision we intended before the consoles were released to create a more visually stunning game of higher fidelity like 2013 assets. The PCs themselves had more than enough power to achieve this vision, almost certainly. But working on the game across 3 platforms did not make it feasible to keep features included that could potentially break the game as we kept building around it. All the 2013 trailers were actually in-game footage (not prerendered or vertical slices) but essentially just not an entirely finished world running on a high-end PC at the time."

It's not a good sign when the only thing people ever discuss about your game is the graphics.

I kind of doubt anyone at CDPR said that...I doubt it is entirely correct as well.
