Not so much a 'recap' as a "this is the world of". It doesn't talk about much of anything as far as 1 or 2 go. But- really awesome. I loved the nearly 3D look mixed with the nearly cell shaded look. Great new style.

So this does not contain any spoilers for people (like me) who have yet to play Witcher 1 and 2?

The first 2 had little to do with each other. I can't speak for the 3rd, but it doesn't appear to be any different in that regard. Witcher is basically a nomad. The stories are self-contained within the Witcher era (happenings during his time), but the character remains the same.

If anything, I'd say this would make you want to play the 1st and 2nd to take him down another journey.

The graphics used in the video are sick. I would love to see a game use an art style similar to the one in the video.

The first and only question I have for CD Red is when Witcher 1 and 2 will be coming on the PS4?

Great - never played pitcher ... seems like a reasonable set up for a story ... anything more thorough than this out there?

There is full witcher saga like 5 or 6 books, dunno how much are translated to your language. Witcher is dark fantasy, very dirty and vulgar.
I like this vid, it set up a world a bit for people who never red books, ofc is very very simplified.

they could make trilogy pack, all games in one edition.

The simple answer is while each story is self-contained and generally unrelated to each other, cdprojekt has been building up a metastory in the background to lead up to this 3rd game. Yes, I refer to the Wild Hunt. It is only passingly mentioned in Witcher 1. Then it is semi-important in Witcher 2 and now it is the part of the plot in the third game.

I would say, at least play Witcher 2 first. Its story is simply fantastic. A lot of intrigue and the dialogue is stellar. It also sets you up for the third game. In Witcher 1, Geralt barely remembered the memories he lost. In Witcher 2, his memories begin to return and when they finally do, it sets up his motivation for the Witcher 3.

Right now, I'm currently going through the books series. I finished The Last Wish and not I'm over halfway through The Sword of Destiny. And I've got 5 more to read after this. Apparently, reading the books after playing Witcher 2 is a good thing since Witcher 3 has 2 new major characters (or not so new since they appear in the books) joining the cast that had major roles in the books.

Granted i haven't read all of the books, but they certainly are pulp fantasy. I think the games, certainly 2, kinda miss the mark with the language though. Obviously i'm reading transaltions, but in the books every other word isn't "plowing" (aka fuck) and while the tone is dark, it's not made dark and mature by tons of foul language.

Also, the trailer is interesting, but i kinda wish it made a better job of explaining one of the cooler things about the witcher universe; the conjunction of the spheres :)

Easier said than done. I doubt porting The Witcher 2 would be hard but the first game (which was solely developed for PC with a highly modified Aurora engine) would take a lot of work. Essentially a complete remake.

Personally since I've had both games since launch I'd rather have them focus on creating new games rather than putting money and resources porting/remaking their old ones.
