Xbox 360 PS3

EA Sports are announcing this year's sports games one game after another, Tiger Woods' turn was this week. Amazingly, the series and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 will still be released on Playstation 2, plus Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and Playstation 3.

EA press release:
Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that the world’s #1 selling* golf video game franchise tees off for a new season in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 10. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 takes golf fans inside-the-ropes to experience the drama and emotion of tournament golf. In addition, the U.S. Open, a USGA championship, and the USGA’s Rules of Golf will be available in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 for the first time in franchise history.

“No player has elevated the game of golf more than Tiger Woods and we celebrate his return with a game that recreates the atmosphere of the PGA TOUR like never before,” said Executive Producer Mike Taramykin. “Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 continues the long-standing tradition of providing an authentic golf experience that is accessible to skilled and casual gamers alike.”

As you hear the roar of the crowd from the next hole over, can you handle the mounting pressure while you stand over your tournament-winning putt? Expanded crowds surround every hole; adding to the tension and excitement of each shot. A first for the franchise, real-time weather will be reflected on every course, ensuring the in-game experience matches that of the current weather conditions. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 will also feature a television broadcast style presentation, which include instantaneous updates and a new announcer team of ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt and the Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 on the Nintendo Wii will support the all-new Wii MotionPlus accessory, which brings an authentic sports motion to your golf swing; including the ability to draw and fade. Whether it’s opening up your clubface to take on that dogleg or tap in that five-foot putt – Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 with the Wii MotionPlus is like bringing a golf simulator to your living room.

This year’s 2009 U.S. Open course, Bethpage State Park (Black Course), will be available on the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION3, PSP and Wii versions of the game. The USGA’s U.S. Open courses are known for being the toughest test in all of golf, and in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 golf fans can expect the same major championship conditions as found in the real world. Turnberry (Scotland), home to this year’s British Open, will also be featured in the game.

Developed in Orlando, Fla., by EA Tiburon, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 will be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation®2 and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment systems, the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and Wii™.

EA SPORTS™ is the leading interactive sports software brand in the world, with top-selling titles and franchises including Madden NFL Football, FIFA Soccer, NHL® hockey, NBA LIVE basketball, NCAA® Football, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® and NASCAR® racing. * Based on NPD data.

Maybe it's because I know nothing about golf but all these Tiger Wood games look the same to me...And how much can you improve a game mechanic that evolves around moving a stick back and then forward? :/

I don't mean to offend any golf fans, I'm just saying maybe it's not the best idea for a game?
Especially one that comes out every year.

Still, hopefully they add lots of new modes and stuff...Screens look good but then every EA game LOOKS good nowadays.

Golf games can be pretty fun actually, especially the whackoffs like HotShots, but I agree every year the same thing is just another cash in.
It's almost like they admit they didn't get it right the previous ten times.

@masteratt: you're not the only one. There's only so much you can do with a golf simulation. And most of that go into making the game look as real as possible. And with the current console hardware, doubt we'll see a huge improvement anytime soon.

EA could have released Tiger Woods 2007 and label it 2010, no one would make a difference... lol

I agree Tiger Woods doesnt change alot from year to year. But 2009 was the best game in the series to date (when the new developer finally had some time to improve stuff) and with a dynamic weather system and new courses i'ill be happy... have been hoping for weather effects:)

although i agree that 'they all look the same', how exacly could they look differant? i mean to be fair on them they are making a realistic golf game, therefore it should look exacly as it does and has done.

i suppose what people could be saying is 'stop making games!! please!!'

maybe they could just do a downloadable 'update' of last years version to save everybody 40£

although if they are making them then people are buying them, so i dont see why they would stop anytime soon. i always picture the devs of games like this having a great time, drinking beers and messing around all day and everyday, then making a few changes before launch and sending a slightly updated version in the nick of time...

Even the damn logo is aliased up the ass
I can sort of understand a golf game, but not one that is anual. I mean, sure you can improve some tech, but beyond that, not much can really be done. I'm really not sure why people insist on putting out sports games every year, but one where it all revolves around a single guy? Atleast the other stuff gives a new line up, like different Guitar Hero/ Rock Band/whatever the fuck.

Yeah pretty shoddy graphics really for a game that has been on this current generation for a few years now... average to below average outdoor lighting... not much to render. Aliasing. I'm never one to complain about aliasing... usually but this is terrible. I agree they just need to come out with a Tiger Golf game and just update it annually for a couple of years for say 1600 MS points, with newer stats, newer players and a few extra courses. They obviously aren't spending anytime upgrading the graphics engine. For instance NBA 2K9 looks phenomanal, graphically.

terrible looking game, from the sheet of plastic looking "grass" to levitating tiger woods (screen 4) lighting is crap as well. do they do anything with these golf sequels? becasue visually this looks dated as hell.

i expected better tbh.

Agreed. It's not as if the game is having to dedicate all it's processing power to render the fucking ball, is it? When you see games like Fight Night rendering people so well, then you see Tiger-Made-Of-Wood rendered in all of his lazy-ass-EA glory, makes you wonder why we should continue supporting this kind of shit. Maybe they should get the Fight Night team to work on the GFX?

I still think 07 is the definitive version (the only one I considered worth buying anyway).

I am a HUGE TW Golf fan, BUT, I have a suggestion for everyone.

Do some browsing, and check out the graphics for the new Ghostbusters game that will be coming out soon. Nothing emphasizes the point being made here, that graphics have not been improved upon with TW then that game. I chose that game, because the primary focus is on human beings. As is golf.

I'm very very, did I mention very, disappointed in EA for the lack of significant improvement in the area of graphics engine. I don't know this for sure, but it's entirely possible that they have done absolutely nothing with graphics in years. Rather just add content.

If I was Tiger Woods. I'd be some pissed off.
