PC Xbox 360

TimeShift certainly did a have a chaotic development. First announced by Atari for Xbox and PC, then with a barely upgraded version on Xbox 360 and PC by Sierra, the game has now been delayed one more year and will be released in Q4 2007. As you can see with these 5 images, the graphics engine has been totally overhauled and the game sports a much more "next-gen" look.

smart move, and the updated look is appropriate to the game, IMO.

Wow, those devs really got their stuff together, finally. Looks like an entire different game. Gameplay was fun in the previous version demo, but completely lacked good graphics and was buggy and badly optimized. I hope the improvement in graphics also reflect improvement in all other aspects.

That rain is real? I'll believe it when I see it in motion... If so, this game has been completely resurrected.

I have to admit, after playing the demo that was on an OXM disc about 9 months ago, I had totally written this game off, and even with the whole "let's revamp the game" thing I figured it would come out looking sub-par and playing like ass. Well, obviously we still don't know how it plays, but it's definitely looking good right now. Shockingly good. Seriously, I'm kind of amazed considering the state of that demo.

I just hope they're going to make better use of the abilities in this version of the game than "stop time so you can walk through fire" in the demo.

It is a different game. For all intents and purposes, the original title (which was supposed to ship over 2 years ago) was cancelled, and everything--levels, story, characters, and core game mechanics--were recreated from scratch. The only thing that remains is the name and some ability to manipulate time, but even that aspect bears little resemblance to the original. Gamespot has more details if you're interested.

The story also will be totally different. It's all on IGN.com

You'll be wearing a suit called S.A.M. which will help you decide which time-stopping/changing power you should use. So it won't be like "using slowmo all the time like the pc version and don't knowing what to do" when you need the other powers.

And the rain looks teh leetz0r in the robot picture.
