Crystal Dynamics has announced that Tomb Raider won't be released this Fall as it was planned. Square Enix targets now Q1 2013 for the survival adventure of Lara Croft. One new screenshot inside.
A Message to the Tomb Raider Community
When Crystal Dynamics first set out to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise, there were two goals that we were extremely passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers. The second was to make this the best game of our careers, something we would be really proud to be a part of. We truly believe that we have something very special on our hands and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.
We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait. The game is looking amazing and we can't wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.
However, I understand your skepticism. To be honest, I'm not excited for it at all. Not turned off, just not excited as well. I still need to watch the new 21 minutes video though. (5 minutes ago)
@Moonwalker: I have heard a lot of people say the contrary, though almost all of them said it stopped being fun after 40 hours or so. Hopefully, TCGR:W's developers do a much better job. (7 minutes ago)
@Sdarts: The Division sure didn't do that for us. Have not played the latest DLC though. (37 minutes ago)
A lot of times, co-op can turn a boring single player campaign into a very fun one. More often than not. (40 minutes ago)
@Moonwalker: If you're playing with friends or, to a certain degree, even with strangers, then most missions might not feel like a "bore". (41 minutes ago)
As for Ghost Recon, it's not that I dislike everything about it but I don't know about that open world. How many of those missions until it becomes a complete bore? (1 Hour ago)
Ah yes I look forward to Little Nightmares as well. Looks really cool. (1 Hour ago)
