Xbox 360

After quite a few weeks of silence Too Human is back with this third developer diary. This one is half about the actual game, and half about what seems to be a big viral marketing campaign.

At least there was some gameplay. I know the Too Human team hate the recurring comparisons, but this could finally be the console version of Diablo that a lot of people have been waiting for.

Still no official release date?

i really like the viral video they posted with this, and regardless of the visual fidelity i have always wanted to play a game that is soaked in norse mythology and this game has everything you could ever want in an action rpg of its kind. i just dont think its gonna be a free roam environment like oblivion. oh well the the concept is just awesome.

The animation quality is still as amateurish as it was since the first footage. The SK guys need to take a look at Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, and feel very, very ashamed, and learn how to deal with motion capture.

Otherwise it does sound like an awesome game.

wow go figure a guy thats name is moron compares this footage to the first footage and says theirs no difference....

theirs MAJOR differences! They basically reworked it from the ground up, the games looking great, not to mention a solid original story for once not like every other game.

its not gonna be like oblivion but i'd say diablo on steroids :)

Very Slick Viral Marketing.

Heavly inspired on the "Ötzi the Iceman" Discover. Too bad they don't show the "Goblin" in this first Video. It's silhouette remides me more of e.wall from pixar, than a humanoid robot.

Even the more funny that you misinterpreted what he was saying as he mearly refered to the animations. Which haven't improved at all indeed.

Otherwise, the game's looking very interesting indeed!

lol, tell me about it, melee combat looks like he's hitting them with fethers, there is no connection with anything. its just random "fancy" swinging and their health goes down.

cool viral marketing tho, was pretty drawn into it all. not enough to buy the game, but it was cool.

I agree but nothing can touch Ninja Gaiden.. and this is an Action/RPG that has a crazy deep skill tree and upgrade system, with an insane amount of customization and 4player coop, not to mention a strong story.

I feel like I'm ratting on Oblivion a lot lately.. But it basically had the same problems as this seems to suffer from. Poor looking animations and the attacks don't appear to connect. Hopefully it's something they can fix before release, but if not, I can live with it.

Yeah smooth animations are great and all but I've got to tell ya... Playing Ninja Gaiden or DMC these days I honestly don't give a flying **** about the animations. Everything tied to graphics only matters the first few hours of gameplay. This game seems to focus more on what's underneath all the pretty visuals, and I'm really looking forward to that.

I haven't watched the video yet, but after reading the comments here, I'm under the impression that the character animations are still clunky and the collision detection still looks awful. I was trying to remain optimistic about the animations in the previous videos by assuming that it was just video captures of the gameplay. Almost twelve years in development.......it better damn well be good and loaded with eyecandy, gameplay, innovation, story, and anything that makes a great game.

I don't care about graphics and animations if it's fun to play and have huge amounts of stuff to collect and levels to get.

watching that vid is depressing. only solution left is to get confinced by a demo or some good review when it releases cause i don't think they are other games in the genre as bad looking(animation, collision detection, effects ) as TH

I guess I will make my usual TH defense here and say what the hell are you people watching if you think the animation is bad? TH has the best animation that I have ever seen in its genre. You have to remember that TH is an aRPG with some action-based combat and not a button masher like DMC or NG. You have 5 different classes with 4 major combat mechanics, shooting, melee, skills, and ruiners. Each class has numerous weapon types each of which can be switched on the fly. You have 1000s of weapon and armor models, giving you 100s of millions of potential combinations. Your characters current gear shows up in the cut scenes. All of this means that you can't have the same level of animation as much simpler games like the actioners.

It's easy to take other peoples word for it, but this game has not been in development for 15 years. Only the inspiration about commoditization has.
If you would take some time to actually look into the games' life-cycle yourself, you'd see that it's absolutely nothing like the Too Human game SK announced for the PSX or the GameCube. Back then it didn't feature any gods from norse mythology. It didn't have any traces of hack-n-slash at all. And the RPG elements were very minor compared to what is now.

The game we're seeing right here, right now, was started from scratch around 2004-2005. Only the name and the overall idea behind it has remained.
