Trailer of Battlestations: Pacific

Trailer of Battlestations: Pacific

Eidos released these images and a gameplay trailer of Battlestations: Pacific, to be released around April on PC and Xbox 360. The graphics in this action-strategy game might not be the finest , but the first game had solid gameplay.

Well.. WOW! I'm actually impressed! If this is in-game then it certainly looks good enough for me! I liked the gameplay in the first Battlestations, this one looks enjoyable for me too.

May not be the finest graphics, but I still like how it looks. It doesn't have the overusing of shiny metal and such, wich so many titles do. It looks more natural this way. A bit like half-life 2.
Also, the cockpit view looks amazing, especially with the lighting.

I didn't mean that the graphics are *bad*, but I don't think the game looks incredible either. The game takes place out in open sea, so they should be able to crank out some more. The framerate seems to hold up though, that's always nice.

With that in mind, the images are in PC resolution so the footage could be from the same version.

I agree with Manager, and holding the framerate up is the least that we could expect with those graphics.

Graphics are more than i was expecting. Midway gfx quality was already satisfying too me. Abscence of framedrops and/or screen tearing is always a plus (considering even top titles as GoW2 and Fallout 3 didn't escape these problems). I gave Midway a high review score and still consider it to be one of the finest RTS games on console. It had a certain Operation Flashpoint grandeur with the ability to pop into any vehicle/plane on such large battlefields. I'm expecting Pacific will be at least equally enjoyable.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @Sdarts: Yup. Oh and I can't forget to mention how dark it is, and that story, real nice. The dynamic between Jackman and Stewart was superb too. (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Moonwalker: I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yes, Wolverine in the comics was always bloody, savage and ruthless. Something the previous movies never did, probably to stay PG-13 - suitable for teens. (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @digi_matrix: Looking very forward to it. But no spoilers please. Now I know I will most likely cry at the end. (Which is never a bad thing.) (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @droezelke: No problem, in games like Edith Finch what's most important is story, characters and world settings. It's like movies or a very short TV show/mini series, gameplay isn't as important. (8 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Oh and I loved the violence, yep. I never liked how there was barely any blood in the previous films, impossible when you have someone like Wolverine cleaning house. This is how it's done. (9 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker And I'm so glad I watched the previous X-men movies first, specifically the two Wolverine movies, otherwise some things wouldn't have made sense (9 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Logan was absolutely fantastic. In terms of acting, emotion, character development it's in a different league than the other X-men movies. Fucking loved it. And man, Jackman is a boss! (9 Hours ago)
