Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

CCP Studios, the makers of EVE Online, have decided to work on a console title called Dust 514. The game will be a MMOFPS set in the universe of EVE Online and allowing players of the two games to interact with each other: players of EVE will for example be able to hire players of Dust 514 as mercenaries. Let's hope such an original and ambitious idea will be well-received by the players. MMOs are not that frequent on consoles let alone MMOFPS, which should please Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owners. No release date has been announced yet but expect to learn more about the game soon. Until then, here is the first trailer.

Amazing trailer...it's a mix of Halo:ODST and Killzone 2.I was not interested in this concept but after this trailer i want to see more.

Nice CGI, too bad it says fuck all about the game. If it says anything at all, it is that the developers at this stage don't feel confident about what their engine can do.

It's alpha footage.. I think it's still pretty interesting. The concept is what is drawing me to this. I don't play EVE, but a handful of people in my FPS clan do, so I can see some serious interest being generated there. It's also a very ambitious concept, which I totally welcome. You don't see developers trying new things all that often.

Very ambitious indeed, sadly these types of MMO ambitions rarely end up in anything more than a big mess. I also really like some of the ideas going on here, I just have very little faith that they will be able to make it work to the degree it needs to in order for people to have a lot of fun with it.

Wasn't there another MMOFPS coming out for the 360? using unreal engine? did they cancel that game or what?

I think you mean Huxley? It's currently set for Q4 2009(PC).

I play EVE and I'm looking forward to this but I have to say that was a very boring trailer. Could it possibly be any more stereotypical? Set in a future/sci-fi universe I understand they're somewhat limited but come on... Not even EVE itself has such bland and unorganic aesthetics.

Or perhaps they haven't polished it visually and want to show exactly what they are aiming for.

yep thats it, thanks. Did they cancel this for 360 and now PC only or just coming out on PC first? I thought that game looked a lot more promising than this one, from what little I've seen of either game so far.

Huxley looks like UT3 with towns. There were several chances to join the open beta on the PC, but I was never compelled to try it out. It was like a 23gig install and it's not looking so super.

It's going to be free-to-play now too, no subscription.

Can you say Killzone 2 all over again? Sorry couldn't resist but I really hate CGI trailers cause they may show what the developers think there games going to be like but almost (If not always) the game is never like the CGI.

Not a huge fan of EVE any more (I played it for 3 years though). But I'm looking forward to what CCP does with this. If there is anyone who can make this work they can, brilliant devs...

That game made me think of Halo, or at least what Halo should look like. Very heavily influenced by 'Aliens'( just like halo). Seriously, that holo-table is strait out of ODST, and the Design just screams Bungie. Maybe that's why I'm so interrested...
