Though next fall is pretty distant~
Mafia 2 on PC will be directx 10 exclusive. This has been confirmed by 2K. Although it is planned for the end of 2009, I think that's a strange choice, as Vista is not yet a big succes among gamers.
This may also say that the graphics on consoles will be downgraded.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this game. I think the PC version is going to be the only way to go! Core i7 ftw.
(- too bad about the diaries)
Loved the first Mafia on the pc... will be interesting to see how well consoles pull this off.
And ofcourse it will look better if you've got a high-end rig. You're comparing it to how it plays on a 3yr old £99 machine.

Honestly the graphics don't look dependent on DX10 at all, what worries me equally much is they seem dependent on texture memory. The models & effects are nothing special but the textures look insane.
The sad thing is... we have to wait until Fall 2009. :(
i can't wait until this is availabe on my pc. i hope they can do a better job with the console versions so everyone has a chance to really enjoy this game.
by the way, i'm sure the graphics will be fantastic, as they were in the first game, but i wouldn't take all these trailers and screenshots to heart. thats a mistake so many gamers make.. remember, they have to sell their product. if they need photoshop or dev box to help them do that with a little polishing, that's what they are going to do.
Got a link? Because if that's true this game is gonna BOMB. Like less than 50k sales. Even Crysis & GTA4 weren't DX10 only.

Vista actually makes games run BETTER on my system, never crashes (other than crashes depending on the actual bugginess of games themselves obviously), never had a single bluescreen, and no problems with anything other than the creative crappy sound-cards (which i have now replaced with the Asus Xonar).
Seriously, the entire vista-sux myth is just that, a myth fabricated by ppl who are afraid of change, just like when XP was released when everyone said it suxed and they would never change from win98, LOL.
I dont know a single person who still uses XP, and most of them are gamers.
With new games I haven't got many problems so far and when game crashes it won't kill the whole OS like XP did many times.
Hmm DirectX 10 only? Interesting, I can't wait see how well will this new engine perform.
