Turok Trailer/Interview

Turok Trailer/Interview

Who would have thought at the beginning of this generation of consoles that Turok would be a game to be hyped about? Not a lot of people I bet, but this video certainly does indicate that some good could actually come from the Turok license again!

I REALLY hope this game turns out well. With all the guns and all the dinosaurs its got my attention! I wonder if there will be some über weapon in the finished product, like the Chronoscepter? That would be awesome! Or perhaps another of my favorite guns will make a return, the sinister Cerebral Bore!

visually it looks pretty nice, but the art style and general design has generic written all over it, oh, another steroid user action hero who can take on the world. lol. doesnt look bad tho.....but it falls into that timeshift, jericho, blacksite sort of catagory of good, but not great shooters imo. its nothing i'd spend money on personally.

This actually gets me more in the mood for some Dino Crisis. Turok is a fun little series, but the dinos in DC are just way scarier.

So far Bungie has let every FPS as of late out do them at their own game. The dynamic third person switch in certain scenarios is awesome and a plus. This is definitely the way to go for the future of FPSs. Sometimes I think we deserve to see the character in which we control at some point during gameplay as opposed to just seeing a weapon/weapons and a hand floating on screen. Shooters don't have enough interactivity with the backgrounds. Sure there's plenty of physics these days but when the player interacts with the backgrounds, I think it should switch from first person to third person respectively.

The simple fact is that developers are running out of ideas to spice up the FPS genre. The latest trend seems to be using a switch to 3rd person view, something im totally against. If I buy a FPS game, I expect it to be in first person view. If I want a 3rd person view then I'll buy a game in that genre.
