Valve is very good at setting a mood for their games.. And again I like it!

It might not be the best looking game by any means, but I have high hopes for the co-op value this games seems to promise. Co-op made Saint's Row 2 an insanely fun game for me and my friends, I'm hoping this will be more of that same community fun.

The most fun and exciting game I have played in a long time.

I was lucky enough to play it at Eurogamer Expo the other day. Me and my friend both agreed it was easily the best game of the show.

Before I played it was a maybe, now I've got it pre-ordered.

Oh and in the trailer when the zombie sticks his arm through the door.. that happens in the game. And you poop yourself a little bit when it does.

(:

looks awesome. only thing that worries me is replayability, even with the "director" AI im worried how interesting it'd be to play the same levels over and over? how many levels does it have anyway?

Pre-ordered. This ad rocks.

I want to preorder this but not until i played the demo.. If the demo will be bad ill continue to play Team Fortress 2 which i think is the best multiplayer game up to date

I rarely play shooters but this looks like something anyone can enjoy. Just waiting on that demo now...

Oh and is it just me or did they change the female character's design? She looked tougher before, which I liked
Commented on 2008-10-31 20:34:47
They changed all of the character designs. I too preferred the previous female character, but the others were for the better. They're all a little more realistic looking regardless.

I need a demo to have a opinion on this one... looks interesting though...

I don't know about levels but Valve said this game gets more levels and stuff as updates later, like TF2 got too. So that helps a little.

@daikide there is demo coming for pre-orders on 6th and for everyone else on 11th. I think the 360 pre-order thing was for North America only.

Valve are well known for providing more content after release. I think this game will be fun to replay through many times and then there is the extra content.

Holy crap you're right. I just realized there are some major changes across the board. Here's a pic of the old cast for anyone else interested:

Definitely liked the older ones better, but these aren't horrible I guess--just a little too RE:Outbreak-y

if ever there was a game that was crying out to be put on xbox live this is it. This game screams for full mic support, buddy lists, and the feeling of your heart beat rumbling through your fingers as you're close to death.

Only one place where this game will truely shine.

All Source games have built in VOIP support on the PC (and buddy lists). With the development of Left 4 Dead they are also getting a fleshed out pre-game lobby which includes a party and match making system. This game will shine just fine on the PC, especially considering the fast paced nature of its combat, and the inclusion of more adequate controls.

I'm sure the Xbox version of L4D will be great, but it's hardly the definitive version of the game. That's a point that could easily be argued all day long. Enjoy the game where you feel like you will enjoy it best.

I'll get the free updates version.

Valve games just doesn't feel as good on consoles for me. I can just imagine some great mods for this game.

Ad wasn't too good... Still I believe this is going to be awesome game.

i agree, older ones look better. they seem to have a bit more "character"...these new versions just look more real, and thus more generic at the same time. but i agree. they look like they where ripped straight from RE: outbreak.

Dude, i'm sure all pc games have mic support ofcourse...but you've played pc games, how many people bother using mics? This is a game that will need communication.. and every 360 owner has a mic.

Also, the 360 version has split screen online play. If that doesnt scream definitive version i dont know what does

Lots of people use mics publicly in Valve's games on the PC, and basically everyone on my xfire (~200 buddies) does as well. Custom content, free support, free online play, superior controls, superior graphics etc. screams definitive version to me. I'm sure people will enjoy the 360 version just as much, though. Like I said before.. get the version you'll enjoy more, but I'll be playing this game with my friends on the PC and I fail to see how we're getting short changed in any specific area.

This was one of the best videos I've ever seen. Totally AWESOME. This game is very good.

Yeah I agree. I`ll be getting it on pc to experience it`s mouse&keyboard style precision, but also on the Xbox 360 too as having my true, `real-life` buddies on tow to help with the carnage is a must.

I`ve ben watching this game closely ever since it was first shown and can`t wait to get home and play it.

1st day buy on both platforms is a MUST for me, so lets get zombie-killin` !!!!.

You do realise that the majority of people playing this on PC will be using things like vent or team speak and will have the exact same experience. And for me, this game will "truly shine" on the PC.

And there's no need to use Vent or TS anyway. If you pub TF2 for example you'll see just how chatty the community is. There are plenty of people using Valve's built in voip support, and most people who take PC gaming even slightly seriously have a headset.

I guess this game is not for story gourmets, but well action junkies will get their fix with this.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker I checked again, their last broadcast is about 32 minutes and is about the Keep. The one after is from oct 20. (3 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @Sdarts: It's going to be the X1 version for me. Hopefully we get to zoom in on characters too. Skyrim and Fallout 3 have that, you can zoom in/out and keep the cam there. (3 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts DICE helped them a lot with the Frostbite 3 engine and they were able to push the visuals beyond BF4 in some aspects, like the water effects. And it really shows. Too much excited to wait till Nov 18. (4 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts The camera automatically zooms out when entering combat and zooms in after, but you can change the FOV with the mouse wheel. The visuals look amazing on PC, much more than on PS4 and XBO. (5 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Moonwalker: To access the archived livestream videos, click on BioWare and then on Past Transmissions. Today they showed a new region and a new story quest (but very early, so almost no spoilers). (5 Hours ago)
  • Sath
Sath Main Theme from Lords of the Fallen [url] sounds great to me, kind of getting that Witcher style vibe. (7 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker I watched the X1 stream again, parts of it, i really hope so much that on console we can zoom on the character and lock it too, it totally kills immersion when camera is so far away. (7 Hours ago)
