Damn, nice screenshots. I found an interview with Dan Greenawalt and he said that the showroom cars are the same LOD as the ones that you race with (unlike previous games in the series). I'm not sure to believe that, these models must be at least 250k polygons!

Yeah there's no way but if by some miracle that were the case it would only be the player car.

I think it is a safe bet that is not the case but definitely more than Forza4 I would think.

I wouldn't believe that. Maybe half a mill? That would be stretching it a bit too.

Pretty, but I would much rather see mid race pics and track pics. I'm so tempted get the x1 for this but $500 for just one game is stupid. Gonna wait til Titan fall etc start to release.

probably based on the footage released not long ago with aliasing that looked like an upressed Forza 4? dunno

T10 are saying that the autovista models in forza 4 are the models we're seeing in game in forza 5, and they're claiming those models are upwards of a million poly's. so either their lying through their teeth, or the in-game models are a million polys

well, anti-aliasing is up to the dev - but 2x is mandatory on every game on XO

2x AA will not be used in XO. Many games used post process AA. But since most XO games will be sub 1080P aa probably need to be little better. Forza4 used different LOD. 4x AA on practice mode with higher LOD in races lower LOD with 2x AA.

In Forza5 vids before race they show the car for some 20sec or so I think that time they use highest LOD but when race start which back to lower. They use this trick a lot. Just as race start they switch the details. Also if you pause and take a photo they will again switch to highest LOD. This trick got debunked since Forza3. I came to know about it when xbox fanboys were claiming Forza has better models but they use those tricks instead.

Talk out of ass much?

There are a lot of random numbers thrown around here, but I'd like to know where you actually got them and even more importantly; what they mean. Do you know or are you just regurgitating buzzwords?

As for "tricks", you clearly don't understand how EVERY - SINGLE - GAME on the PLANET is developed. These are not "tricks", they're the way things are. If you really think (insert your favorite race game - probably on PS3, since you call "xbox fanboys") is really pushing the lowest LOD (highest-poly) on every single frame at every single angle... well... then the developer has done their job well, but I can tell you, that's not the case. It's never the case. Developers use these "tricks" as you call them to give the highest fidelity and framerate at any given time. They're not "tricks" to fool you, they're optimizations and they're smart.

(Disclaimer: I don't work on Forza and have no affiliation with Forza/Turn10, but I have worked on hundreds of games over many decades).

And on-topic, these renders look really nice. I'm sure the game will look fine. At first it'll seem like an incremental bump over Forza4, but years later people will really look back at "current gen (X360/PS3)" vs. "next gen (XO/PS4)" and realize there was an actual jump. It's happen before. Take a look at Forza 1,2,3,4 or GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, GT5. There are always improvements.

If you search on internet you will find what I wrote are facts. forzaplanet.net forum had comparison between cars in practice vs race if I remember correttly. You can also find the Forza3 and Forza4 car models info by searching in neogaf and other forums if you are interested.

Maybe, Maybe not, there's a recent build of the game with pretty smooth looking NPCs. the dashboards in those cars do seem to have more buttons and dial detail.

current build of Forza5's interiors and NPCs

Also has better looking desert trees too, the ones i saw before pretty much had no shape.

Yeah just over a month now. Car models and interior looks pretty good whatever it may be. Probably that will also get bump in coming years. But how many cars on track and other gfx affects. Better smoke, going off track interaction with other sand, grass, gravel. Dynamic weather, day/night where it becomes overcast during races on afternoon to evening etc. Night racing, headlight interaction with environments. Many things can be done this gen but Forza5 will be missing on many I think. These screen look great though.
