Two ways to play Dishonored

Two ways to play Dishonored

Dishonored was shown behind closed doors at E3 and the developers showed people two different approaches of the same situation. Here are two videos you may have seen leaked on the net in the past few days, but this time Gamersyde quality.

Hell yes. Even the way the guards mumble to themselves reminds me a lot of thief. I'm so buying this. It and borderlands should polish off the year nicely for me.

The game looks average to me.

This game is coming along fantastically! (I think that's a word lol) I mean visually it is above par...but the gameplay mechanics themselves, like using the rat summon then possessing one of them for a getaway of sorts for example, that idea is so simple but genius in it's own respects. I'm going to keep a better eye on this one. It has a lot of potential I feel.

graphics are lacking for me, and the AI seems sort of stupid. this guy is throwing guys through windows and guards are firing there weapons at this guy yet guards only 30 feet away do not hear it or come to their aid. i do really really like the level design though, and how its very non-linear; i do hope it turns out nicely.

I have very high hopes for this game!
I love stealth games, and they are so rare these days, so this seems like a mush buy for me. Diversity is key.

I'm guessing you can crank up the difficulty.

Yup, cranking up the difficulty makes the guards more alert, do more damage and potions restore less of your meters.

-Looks a bit wonky, but still, looking promising.....

Yeah, the blink power looked a bit uh...over powered to be honest. Again, i'm guessing if you crank the difficulty up a bit, you won't be able to spam it so much.

Definitely looks very promising, but also could use quite a bit of polish. I think the graphics are fine, but the animations are bit weak, and the kills just look comedic. The "Razor bomb" thing and the exploding headshot from crossbow look like poorly animated clips off youtube. Also not a big fan of the giant indicators all over everything. Do I really need four giant lightning bolts pointing at an enemies head, and huge icons telling me what buttons to press? Although if this is toggle-able, it's a non-issue.

Anyone know if the abilities and powers seen in the game are unlocked as you progress? After watching that, the PC looked REALLY overpowered. warping around the environment force pushing groups of enemies, and wasting everyone in your path with dual melee and ranged weapons seems pretty hard to beat. Maybe this was god mode with all powers unlocked or something.

Anyway, definitely liking the premise, I think they just need to smooth out the rough edges and make sure it is still possible to die if you don't execute correctly.

Can anybody tell me:

What happens to your original body after you took over the Fish ?

Is it still standing out there wait for you to return ?
Ready to be seen by everybody or even get killed ?
Like in trance or what ?

Just curious !

There is no body left behind waiting, your entire existence posses things not just your mind, when you want to return to your normal self your body materialize.

I love it because of this supernatural stuff.

Moonwalker I take my time with this game, explore everywhere and talk to every NPCs, cause unlike a lot of other games, they do say relevant stuff. I dig that. (2 Hours ago)

Moonwalker there. A cop will warn you when you get off the train. Golem City is awesome too. Fantastic game so far. Plenty to do next to main story too. (2 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @MikeManiac61: Exactly, or how Augs are not allowed on the Naturals train or special Naturals benches, if you do get on that train NPCs in the loading cutscene will look at you like you don't belong (2 Hours ago)
  • MikeManiac61
MikeManiac61 @Moonwalker: Like the officers and civilians calling the Augs "clanks". "Augs Lives Matter" also is a good subtle hint. (3 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker The way the developer implemented sensitive subjects like racism in Deus Ex MD is damn well done. (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX The BF1 interface is literally the same thing. The only difference is you load a huge client to reach the UI instead of clicking on a bookmark. Guess which one is faster? (23 Hours ago)
