Valve announces Team Fortress 2

Valve announces Team Fortress 2

Valve just announced that PS3 and 360 ports of Half-Life 2 are to be released next-year, in a big pack containing the game as well as the two "Episodes", Portal (a solo game featuring experimental gameplay) and... Team Fortress 2. Yep, THE Team Fortress 2. With its shaders-filled cartoony look, the game seems pretty far from what it used to be when it was still using the Quake Engine... And I must say I'm totally seduced. Are you ?

If that's the game's graphics, it looks really good.

My guess concept art. But who knows--since it may be "ground up" for PC/PS3/Xbox 360 ??

Either way, I LOVE the art direction and could see such a lookg excelling on the current hardware.

I loved TF way back on HL1. High hopes for this!

It's no concept art, this is how the game looks-like in-engine. And it rocks.

wow looks like toy story style graphics. No idea how they have done that with the source engine.

/me faints

If it has this sort of IQ in game... it will push me to buying it even though I already own HL2/CS:S.

I think the lighting looks too complex in that shot to be actual in-engine stuff, but I don't doubt it looks very close to that.

Never heard of Team fortress, whats it about?

Will Half Life be getting an appropriate upgrade graphically on the next-gen consoles?

Doubt it. If you ask me, HL2 still holds its own against next-gen offerings to date.

It's a class based multiplayer FPS.
Really fun.

Definitely getting this.

I hope that Day of Defeat and CS: Source are coming for Xbox, too.

Quote from TXB.com
"Unfortunately, it seems that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions won't include Team Fortress 2, which will be part of the PC combo. "-sad if true.

I allready do have HL² on PC and i don't care about the episodes but if valve/ea announced TF2 for 360 i'd definitely get this - TFC was one of my favorite games back then :)

Looks like the Incredibles lost their powers and are going to war.

Awesome stuff... read this on IGN yesterday.. like snooper said this is how the game is gonna look in-game.....

I love the new graphical style, nice that they're doing something different with the source engine.

Hope this will be in the 360 and PS3 versions. I don't care about CS: Source, I want this multiplayer game on my 360.

Not liking the art direction in this much.

why is everyone saying they'd buy it even if they already have HL2... I mean, won't it also be released on steam as seperate? Like always? I pretty sure you'd be able to buy just team fortress 2 on steam... or mabye the pack minus hl2 etc etc.

My PC can barely run HL², CS:S is almost impossible to play and it will be the same with TF².
Therefore I prefer buying a game i already own + additional stuff than just buying the additions.

Looks like a good team game.
