It's been a long and quite difficult birth, but we are very happy and proud to release this first episode of Versus. Every Monday we'll release an interview of someone from the Gaming industry, and for this first episode we had the chance to sit down and talk with Georges Fornay, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment France for a long and interesting conversation about the PS3.
Update: Talking about a difficult birth, the first version of the video had a pretty big sound issue, along with a few typos in the subtitles. A new version is now online, with everything as it should have been since the beginning :)

suicide-watch: postponed.
I can't help but wonder why the girl was there. I don't think we even heard her voice once, just the occasional nod.
My only other criticism would be that the camera cuts around a lot, which although it might seem as if it makes the interview more dynamic, in my opinion it just makes it slightly dizzying to watch.
Other than that though, great start and good interview. Makes me feel a little happier to own a PS3.
I believe in 3-5 years the PS3 will still be here very strongly and it will still be improving.
Great interview.
To give feedback on the episode itself:
As I only know English, I was reading subtitles and when trying to read the subtitles/ watch the interview etc all at the same time those beeping noises in the background music didn't really help.
That was the only stand out 'bad thing' for me, the rest will improve as weeks pass I'm sure (it felt a bit rough overall but as I say and you mentioned in the text, I'm sure it'll improve).

half of what that guy says is BS, as for the last 3 E3's sony have been sayin the same thing!
I think sony do neeed a big E3 this yr, but i can see nintendos an MS's bein just as big!
As for the Sony CEO, well said and with both feet on the ground. I think he summed it up nicely there. Except for one thing: I myself am ready to get a next gen 360 in two years or so, though I don't know if many others feel the same.
I don't think the PS3 has all that much headroom left. Sure, the hardware will be utilized somewhat better the coming years, but it'll be subtle. It's a given the PS3 won't be able to keep up to MS's next console, not by a long shot. But, when will it arrive? I hope within the next 2 years, 3 years tops and I'll probably get mine day one...
Really enjoyed, cool episode. :)
Secondly, I really hope the Nintendo way is not going to be the way of the future. Just look at the Wii- I sold mine a couple months after I got it because it was never in use. Also notice how when a game is released, the support of traditional control methods is always seen as a positive. Nintendo always spouts about how their new controller will be the way forward( they said it with the N64 controller and the gamecube controller) but, at least for the Wii, I hated that control method- it's not immersive, it's annoying and often times is more limited than the traditional methods, IMO. On top of all that is the lack of power has hamstrung the system time and again, it has always been a stagnant gimmick in my mind. Sorry for the rant, but the day the consoles stop moving forward is the day I become an exclusive PC gamer...
I hope there's a Nintendo executive interview coming up. I'd like to hear them answer the HD question.
At least he owned up to a few thing that his US counterparts bever will due to their overinflated egos
There have been COUNTLESS debates about this here and literally everywhere around the net and there still is. IS the PS3 really more powerful than the 360 ? because honestly, I dont believe it "seeing is believing" and I am not seeing any differences graphics wise and now we're in the 3rd year of the console. The only difference is BlueRay which makes the console future proof but that's about it.
The argument of the person being interviewed seems to hinge on this and that's what all Sony execs are saying and sticking to since the PS3 was announced but I simply dont buy it.
Presentation was also very good although if I might nitpick:
- Girl not relevant in this episode. Maybe you should've included her or left her out altogether.
- Camera work; I don't mind if the camera is moving, but the constant switching positions isn't helping...
Music spot on and keeps it lively.
Very well done and I'm looking forward to the next episode...
