I kept thinking it was a Dragon Age rip off without the amazing fight scene CG... I didnt know it was LOTR! LOL! I just read the War in North part. Someone should have labeled it better. The CG didnt impress me and there was no gameplay which doesnt impress any real gamer.

I saw the comic con gameplay from gamespot, looks very good IMO.

The hit detection and animation are great, it has some very rare clunkyness to the hit detecton but its all good.

Yeah the hit detection for the most part is very good.

For me, the main thing melee combat simply has to be is visceral. With all the severing of limbs and gore - which I wouldn't say is over the top mind you - the combat in this game seems to be incredibly visceral.

Definitely going to be one of the sleeper hits of the year. I certainly won't be missing out on it.

Saw the combat.

Straight up DAO rip off but this one with good combat.

Not a bad thing but is like a carbon copy I mean.

The looks, the way the cool down works and looks, the Menu stuff, talents, abilities and so on, it could pass as a DAO sequel.

Im not saying as a bad thing I do like DAO can't say the same about DA2 though, and this one seems to have decent combat, I see nothing wrong here just stating some obvious stuff.

You are aware that DAO didn't invent any of that, right? In fact, Snowblind's previous games had all of that - and they came out years before DAO.

This is more of a spiritual successor to their old titles than anything else.

Cool stuff then.

As a LOTR fan I'm getting it as soon as my wallet is a little fatter.

About the game

MrWhite Last of Us was a very good game, mind. The best they've done, but I certainly wouldn't put it on a pedestal the way its regarded. (0 minute ago)

MrWhite @AndreasZ94: I just don't think they've done anything that's pushed the envelope or been particularly bold, other than focus on details. (1 minute ago)

AndreasZ94 @MrWhite: It was a very different ND back then too which is why the company name seems weird today (3 minutes ago)

MrWhite Then again, its a difference of months rather than years between those and PSX (5 minutes ago)

AndreasZ94 I don't remember very well but i think my biggest problem with Crash gameplay was the depth perception was weird (6 minutes ago)

MrWhite @AndreasZ94: I wouldn't go as far as saying it was one of the earliest ones. When I think early 3d, I think 3D0, 32X and Jaguar. (6 minutes ago)

MrWhite @GriftGFX: That's the crux of it. Tomb Raider is a good example of that. Then again, it lent a bit to its charm at the same time with how difficult and tense it made traversing things. (8 minutes ago)
